Not that anyone cares, but my period ended the day of my last post.
So my long awaited vacation to Myrtle Beach is over now. So, how was my vacation? The good parts:
- it was not ungodly hot like usual
- I only got a mild case of sunburn on my back
- Ben & Jerry's
- I finally got the mint chocolate chip with hot fudge and wet walnuts sundae I have been dying for
- LOTS AND LOTS of good food
- I worked out every day but the day we drove down and the day we came home
- one morning I went to the gym and "Electric Feel" came on over the sound system
- one day "Amazing" by One Eskimo played over the sound system at the pool
- the night we ate at Liberty Steakhouse, I heard both "Time to Pretend" and "Kids"
- no miserable bitches from work ruined my vacation this time
- it was not crowded at all
- Ripley's Aquarium finally got sharks in their petting pool (and yes, I pet every single one but 2 that I couldn't reach)
And the bad parts:
- it rained a few days
- we discovered roaches in the room we were originally put in after about 2 days of being in there and we had to get all of our unpacked stuff together and move to a new room
- my brother-in-law got on my last nerve with his attitude
- no matter how much I love my nephew I definitely do not want kids after spending a week with him, although I still have an infinite amount more patience with him than my BIL
- I feel like a fat cow still from all of the bad eating
- all of the stores at Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing closed at 9
- I had 2 nights of insomnia, complete with at least 2 panic attacks one of those nights
- it's over
Also, we go to Cracker Barrel on Wednesday when we are down there and their seasonal dessert is carrot cake so of course I ordered a piece. I did not regret getting it.
Ugh, I hate being back from vacation. I still have a bad case of the post vacation depression blues, so here is a picture I took of a depressed looking snake at Alligator Adventure:

JFC Enough With This
I have often wondered if in addition to having OCD, if I am also a hypochondriac. I am no professional, of course, but I would say I probably am. The only thing I know for sure is I loathe whatever I have that makes me fearful of my health, more than any other mental disorder.
I started those new probiotics last Friday and up until Wednesday, I had not noticed any difference. Wednesday it seemed like maybe they were finally started to show their effects. And then later on, I had went to Cracker Barrel for dinner. And something did not agree with me. And after that, my stomach started to feel really lousy and bloated. It's very rare for me to feel worse after my digestive system decides to finally work. If anything, I always feel fabulous.
When I woke up early on Thursday morning, my stomach still wasn't feel too hot. And I was feeling crampy. And all Thursday I felt crampy, nauseous, and bloated. And every so often my lower left side would hurt, like something was pulling. Well, now I have my nerves in an uproar that I have diverticulitis. I have never even been diagnosed with diverticulosis, but 1) I have never been properly tested for anything, so that does not rule anything out and 2) duh, we're talking about me here. There is no such thing as reasoning when it comes to this shit.
And once the idea of possibly having an ailment gets through, not long after a whole flood of anxieties will follow suit. I am not only worried that I have diverticulitis, but also that it will get bad enough to get infected, perforate the intestinal wall, and lead to a systemic infection and.....well, I am sure you can guess where I am going with this.
Fuck.
And if it's not diverticulitis, I am sure my mind could pull a host of other things. Endometriosis of the bowels, for one. Endometriosis is scary enough when you read about it. All of the different areas it can spread to. When it infiltrates your bowels, holy shit, then it gets really terrifying. And then when you read that it can actually fuse organs together
And when I want to try to attempt to think positively, then it could just be normal IBS symptoms and/or a reaction to the new probiotics. I didn't have much of a reaction to the last ones I had taken, the 20 billion ones. But as high as the CFU count was, they only had 2 strains of bacteria in them, one of which my body was already somewhat used to. These new ones may not be as strong, but they have a lot more strains of bacteria, several of which I have never taken, or were taken a long time ago when I first started taking probiotics and used Accuflora. If it's only my digestive system adjusting to the probiotics, then I can ride it out with no problem. If I made it through the first Herx reaction, I can do it again. Unfortunately, I will have to wait and see.

What The.....
Clearly I have not been paying much attention to the synopses of books lately. Usually when I check out books at the library, if they are not by someone whose books I have read in the past, I check out the cover (I know, I know....) and then brief over the summary and maybe check out a few pages, and then I decide whether I want to check it out. When I started reading The Stars Shine Bright, I had no clue whatsoever that it was going to turn preachy. And I still wouldn't have known it for the first 100 or so pages either (that is the religious-free zone) had I not read reviews of it.
I just started another book, Southern Fried Sushi, and I have come to find through reviews that this book is also Christian-themed. I reread the summary on the back of it and realized that I somehow missed the mention of God and "Christian fiction" on the back. And just like The Stars, it started off with no hint of religion. I am on page 185 and it has started getting quite religious, but so far it is tolerable. Now how much more religious it will get, I don't know. For different reasons, I can relate to how Shiloh feels when she gets to Virginia. The only thing I might complain about is the ridiculous Southern stereotypes. I don't doubt that they exist, but this book seems a little absurd. I could see maybe the deep, deep South, but this is Virginia. Also, how on earth does Shiloh, a Cornell graduate, not know what iced tea is, what sheep are, or what "amen" means? Come on.
And the constant mentions of Cracker Barrel are not helping my craving for it!
ETA 5:55PM: Okay, so I made it through. Overall, it was actually a cute book. It did get a lot more preachy, though. Look, I don't like to condemn people for their religious beliefs (unless it is being pushed on me or it's the type of religious beliefs right wing "religious do as I say don't do as I do" fanatics like to preach), but I found it really difficult to not roll my eyes at certain parts.
I just started to read my second to last library book (Picture Perfect by Janice Thompson).....only to discover it too can be classified Christian fiction. What the....DAFUQ was I on the last time I went to the library?! My.....uh....God. So far it is nothing like the other two books, though. And as someone with Irish running through half of my blood, I like the constant Irish talk.
ETA 7/31: Made it through Picture Perfect. It was not nearly as preachy as the other two books. Overall, it was a cute book. Just kind of sickeningly sweet. My teeth and pancreas were hurting after I finished it. Also....quick engagement much?

Random Thoughts
Last month when we received our phone bill, there had been an extra $1.99 charge for mobile broadband data usage. When it comes to a cellphone, there are only 3 things I do with one- make calls, text, and use the calculator. I have no idea whatsoever when or how my phone ever accessed the web. Well, I just checked the billing for this month and once again, a $1.99 charge was slapped on. I think I just cried for 40 minutes. Reasonable reaction? No, but I think I am long past the point of trying to explain myself. All I know is I am very annoyed. I am really starting to hate this phone. Phones should not be able to access the internet unless they are activated to do so. But then I guess the cellphone carriers can't bilk money out of their customers, can they?
Tropical storm Andrea, or whatever she is, is expected to brush the coast on Friday. Yay. The tropical crap is already starting up. I'm already starting to get worried about any possible tornado warnings. On top of the normal severe weather worries, now I am going to be a nervous wreck throughout the entire hurricane season. I never really had to worry about them before. Now hurricanes and other various tropical systems seem to have a vendetta for NJ. Sandy sucked eggs when she hit, but at least she didn't spawn any tornadoes.
This weather is nuts. All of those tornadoes out west. It's a wonder I haven't been having tornado nightmares out the wazoo. No, instead I had another dream about bugs last night. Giant one foot long bugs that were shitting everywhere. It was disgusting.
And going back to Sandy, I went down Wildwood this past weekend. I will never complain about the long trek from the boards to the ocean again. I wonder how bad the damage would have been to Wildwood's boardwalk had it been closer to the ocean. It's just a shame that the clientele of Wildwood is really going downhill. Not that it was ever great to begin with, but man oh man, has it gotten worse. I'll never forget that time when I was down for the weekend and that huge group of kids came running down the boards. I'd still like to know what that was all about.
I just read some blind over on Blind Gossip about a reality couple who sleeps in separate beds. I don't know why I find it so funny, but I do. I don't see a problem with separate beds for sleeping. If I ever got married, there is no way in hell I want to share a bed with someone. I am annoying to share a bed with. I toss and turn, I hog the covers, etc. Oh, and I probably kick people a lot. I don't get to do it in real life, so my subconscious makes me do it in my sleep.
I have been craving Popeye's since....oh, December. I have still yet to get it. I also have a craving for Cracker Barrel. And probably about a million other places. I just went to the Cheesecake Factory a couple weekends ago and I am already wanting to go back. Next time I go, I am going to try the spicy chicken sandwich. And possibly the dutch apple cheesecake. Last time I went, I had the pineapple upside down cheesecake. It was awesome. I might just want to get that again. Or the pina colada cheesecake, if summer is the season for it. I can't wait for the pumpkin to come back.
And speaking of food, I have not been able to buy my Tastykake angel food cakes that I love oh so much. I am in severe withdrawal. And sad if I can't ever get them again.

Damn Hormones
This insomnia needs to resolve itself soon, because it's really starting to irritate me. I am tired of having to deal with 2+ hours every morning of running through everything wrong with my life. Or like this morning, 2+ hours of thinking about how it is spring and pretty soon severe weather is going to start rearing its ugly head and there is absolutely no way in hell my house would ever stand up to a tornado and I wish we would move, but then I am terrified to move somewhere else where something else could go wrong. And now I have my period on top of the insomnia, so now I am extra exhausted and extra cranky. Oh, and my right eye has been twitching since I woke up and it's affecting my vision so I can't even read right.
I ordered a new t-shirt on Monday. I had a code for an extra 25% off. Today, I open my mail and find an email for an extra 30% off. Yes, it's only an extra $1.25 off, but I still threw a fit. I am already paying more for it than I wanted to, so I wouldn't have minded that extra discount.
My sister is here and she is ranting and raving about her mother-in-law. Every goddamn topic of discussion in this house is either about the baby (which that is okay, but when you think how long a day is, there are still plenty of other things to discuss) or her fucking bitch of a mother-in-law. It's like nothing else can be discussed anymore. We're supposed to go out tomorrow night and I am really contemplating staying home, because I know the entire night will be bitching about her.
I went to Cracker Barrel last night and it was one of the first times I did not care for it. And if there is one thing that grinds my gears, it's going to eat at a restaurant that I normally enjoy and having to pay for food I did not enjoy. My broccoli cheddar chicken barely had any crackers on top, the broccoli was hard, and there was a fat piece of gristle on the chicken. Fries were overcooked. The biscuits and cornbread were good, though. I finally decided to try the sugar-free apple pie and at first I was kind of meh on it, but as I ate more of it, I started to enjoy it. The pie just needed to be a little more cooked. Their sugar-free ice cream is definitely better than their regular. Cracker Barrel does not really have that good of ice cream. Too bad they never did get the pineapple upside down cake in again. That was so good!

Random Thoughts
I just visited D-Listed and there was an article about that Honey Boo Boo show and how they supposedly make $40,000 a season. I really want someone to tell me why people watch shit like this. And every other POS reality show on TV. I am tired of hearing the excuse that oh it's like a car wreck you can't turn away. BULL. SHIT. Why on God's good earth do you want to help these people make tons of money for being fucking lowlife scum?
That family is the worst. That mother is beyond disgusting and vile. I can't even look at pictures of her without wanting to projectile vomit. The only smart thing the dumb cow ever said was when she made fun of fat people in bikinis and with their fat hanging everywhere. It's the truth. No one wants to see your fat hanging everywhere. If Americans want to know why the rest of the world laughs at, just look at people like this. And politics, especially the Republican party.
I have a deep unhealthy hatred for child beauty pageants. They make me sick. Anyone who subjects their child to them should be revoked of their parenting privileges. They are abuse, plain and simple. When I was down Myrtle Beach, we were over at Barefoot Landing and I stopped in one of the bathrooms and there were these two young women with a little girl and they had the little girl practicing her beauty pageant speech. It made me want to throw up.
Sorry I am cranky. I went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and my sister and I split the apple dumpling dessert. Out of curiosity I came home and googled nutrition facts for CB and found the dessert is 3229 calories. I almost hit the roof. I want to cry so bad. I wouldn't care so much if I hadn't been bad Saturday and Monday as well. Ugh. My meal had to have been at least 2500 calories. That is sick. I've had the dessert before and never gained weight, and I am sure anytime I go to the Cheesecake Factory my meal is about that if not more, but I still feel so damn guilty.
I couldn't stand having the Addison's fear, but having my weight on the front burner again is not any more of a picnic. It's frustrating worrying constantly about gaining weight. And worrying that the constant worrying of gaining weight is going to lead to an eating disorder. I recall when reading on eating disorders that a lot of people with EDs feel like their eating and weight are the only things they can control in their life. And I do feel like that, because the rest of my life I feel like I have completely lost control of. And that is what worries me.

The Stupid Of The Day
I'm just starting to think Cracker Barrel's Facebook page is made up of trolls, because my god, for a Southern based company, it is full of some very rude and ignorant people. Whatever happened to Southern hospitality, eh? But then again, I have heard some unpleasant and very disappointing things about the founder of the company itself, so I shouldn't be too surprised.
Or just plain stupidity. I present the following:

Now judging by other comments left by this dope, I am starting to think he could possibly be trolling. Then again, maybe not. But seriously? First off, he has no idea what this particular person's political affiliation is. This might be difficult for someone of his caliber to comprehend, but believe it or not, just because a state votes blue, does not mean all of its residents do!
And second, WHAT IN THE HELL DOES SOMEONE'S POLITICAL AFFILIATION HAVE TO DO WITH THE FOODS THEY ENJOY? Okay, yes, a lot of liberals may go vegetarian and judging by pictures of Tea Partiers, they apparently like artery clogging fattening foods. So maybe there is something to one's choice in food in relation to their political affiliation. But I object to this because I fucking love Southern food. And I vote Democrat. So go suck eggs, Derek.
On another note, I had to drop books off at the library the other day and although I really wanted to quit the series after Cream Puff Murder, I broke down and checked out 3 more Hannah Swensen series books. Do you know why? Because I realized I love reading the 3 star or less reviews on Amazon and Good Reads way too much to give them up. And no, I cannot just read the reviews without reading the books. I already thought of just doing that, but then I realized I have to know what the reviewers are referring to in their reviews!
I also was getting ready to check out when I walked by the music section and I saw they had a copy of- fanfare- Oracular Spectacular. So I checked it out and listened to it on the way to the unemployment office today. I felt like I was on a psychedelic trip. It was awesome, especially after the irritating workshop I attended. I am already highly addicted to "Weekend Wars".

Random Thoughts
I am absolutely loving this weather, but my head feels horrible! My nose feels like I got soap up it, it's stuffed up, and I keep getting dizzy if I bend over or move my head too much. If I lay down, my ears get so clogged-feeling, I feel like I am going deaf.
Something really needs to be done with my ears, which is more than likely the source of all the trouble right now. Sometimes I even wonder when I stand up and get light-headed if my ears have anything to do with it, since two sacs in the ear can apparently cause it. The article says it is more common in older people, but with all of the trouble I have, I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the problem. I never know if I am actually experiencing a drop in my blood pressure because 1) I do not always get light-headed, so I don't always know when I am going to have it to keep a blood pressure cuff close by and 2) my blood pressure cuff is a wrist machine and it's a little difficult to make sure your arm is at the same level sitting down and standing up.
Mom and I got at it again on Tuesday night. She was telling me some story, she didn't think I was paying attention, so she made some smart ass remark accusing me of ignoring her (which I wasn't), and I went off. And then we were going at each other and pretty much saying the same shit we say to each other. Although this time she actually called me evil. Oh and I don't remember why she said it, but at one point she turned to me and said "gee, why don't you go cut yourself again?". That was a low blow and it really pissed me off.
That was probably one of the closest times in a long time I ever came to wanting to end it all. I seriously thought about calling a suicide hotline, but I am always paranoid to call them, that they will trace where the call came from (even though I have always been under the impression suicide hotlines are supposed to be anonymous, but I don't know) and send a cop to take me away (although with how I have been lately, I have been thinking that if I did actually have decent medical, I would go somewhere. Some days I would like to go away for a long time).
But even if I were to ever decide to actually commit suicide, I doubt I would ever do it as a spur of the moment thing. Oh no. I would plan out an entire fucking itinerary. Last meals, places to see, people to meet, people to bitch out, people to beat the snot out of, drugs to be tried (what? you think I am going to die without smoking pot or trying ecstasy at least once? can't be any worse than some of the psychiatric drugs I have been on), virginity to be lost. And I would certainly not end it all in this area. It would more than likely be in some major city in a hotel room. And with "Time To Pretend" blasting, because for some unknown reason, as much as I like the song, I always start to feel more suicidal than usual when I hear it, particularly at the "we'll choke on our vomit" part, although I actually fantasize more of blowing my brains out at that part. Why, I cannot answer that, especially since blowing my brains out is one of the last suicide methods I would ever use.
I finally got to Cracker Barrel last night and much to my disappointment, the pineapple upside down cake was not on the menu. It was on the promo menu for a long time last year. So just for the hell of it, I decided to shoot a message on Facebook about it. And look, I will be honest, I didn't word the question properly. I know that it was only a promo and that it was a limited time thing, so I just merely wanted to know why it was on the promo menu so much longer last year. I got one stupid response telling me it was a promo, because durr I didn't apparently know that despite stating that I know it was seasonal.
And the second response came from some 3 named hillbilly hick named Sherrye with a picture of her crotchspawn as a profile picture and who works for Cracker Barrel who apparently did not think the first answer was sufficient enough for my apparent stupidity, so she felt the need to add in her extremely obnoxious two cents, complete with the usage of "uhhh" and multiple exclamation points after her statements. Again, it was one of those times where I wish I could have put my fist through the monitor and had it come out the target person's. Let's put it terms that she clearly only understands- uhhh, I understand it was a promotion. Uhhh, I understand it ended. Sorry I was not clearer in my explanation for your dumb ass.
And quite a few of her responses to other commentors were obnoxious as well. If I saw my employees talking to my customers like that, I'd fire their asses. Nice way to represent yourself on your employer's page, dumbass. Do you talk to your customers the same way? Don't get snippy with other people because you're a stupid uneducated hick moron.
I apologize for my extreme crankiness. Today did not help when my mother finally got the balls to invite my grandparents and aunt over for lunch and my father decided he is tired of veal loaf and he did not want ham, so he was going to go get something to eat. And was gone for over 2 hours. Now let's see if he eats either one tomorrow. Not that we aren't well aware that the whole reason he went out was because of my grandparents and aunt were coming over.
The Awesome/Picture Of The Day
The pineapple upside down cake at Cracker Barrel!
It rightfully should have gotten honors last year, when I had it for the first time and then 2 or 3 more times after that. I absolutely adored it and was disappointed when it was replaced for the next seasonal offering. Needless to say, when I went in January of this year and saw it back on the menu, I nearly upended the table in excitement. It is fucking awesome! It's warm, gooey, and eating it with the ice cream is like heaven. Foodgasmic! My only suggestion for improvement would be to add some kind of nut. Then it would be so awesome, my head would explode.
