Oh digestive system, how I hate you so much!

I have not had trouble like this in a long time. I am fucking miserable! I don't know what has my digestive system in such an uproar, but last Friday, I was between 121 and 122 pounds. This past Friday, 124 pounds. I almost went through the roof when I got on the scale and seen that. I know damn well I did not eat enough last weekend to gain 3-4 pounds. And I was on the ball from Monday on in keeping within my normal calorie range.

And then I made the mistake of going to the Cheesecake Factory last night for dinner. Generally when I go out to eat, I clean off my plate. It's very rare I don't finish every single thing on my plate. And I still have been successful in losing and maintaining my weight. But for some reason, this past week, my appetite has been on overdrive (which made it very difficult to keep within my calorie range, but I was still successful), so of course when I went to dinner last night, I cleared everything. A few pieces of bread, all of my grilled cheese, all of my fries, the entire slice of Oreo cheesecake and a couple forkfuls of my sister's cheesecake. And I am suffering for it today. I am so bloated and miserable and I look and feel like I am pregnant and I am walking like I am pregnant and all I want is one goddamn simple thing.

You know, the Cheesecake Factory does have very good food, but that place is like a madhouse. My God, just going and coming from the hostess stand was like risking your life. People who I have no idea how they even afford to eat there come in with a large number of people in their parties and they ALL have to rush up to the hostess stand like it's their last freaking meal. And I do not much care for seating like they have there, where parties of two are practically right on top of each other. And we had these two teenage girls next to us who were of the airheaded giggly kind. And the one kept looking over at us and it was annoying me.

One thing that is annoying me whenever I go out to eat is how many people I see playing on their phones. Families out and the parents are talking to the kids and the kids are engrossed in their phones. The airheads next to us, both girls sat and played with their phones the entire time they were there. The table next to them, same thing. What is the point of even going out with people if you aren't even going to pay attention to each other? My brother-in-law does that as well. Every single holiday, he sits in the dining room with us and plays on his phone the entire time. I think it is incredibly rude. When we had my sister's birthday cake a couple weeks ago, he sat and played Angry Birds almost the entire night until one point my sister hollered at him.

I like technology a lot, but there is something about cellphones that just irks me. I can't stand watching people texting all the time or whatever they are doing. And when I am talking to someone and they whip out their phone and start typing, I always have to bite my tongue to keep from going absolutely ballistic. I am talking to you, for fuck's sake! Pay attention!

And that reminded me of that commercial for AT&T, where the guy and the girl are on a date and she accuses him of watching a game on his phone and he denies it, but he really is watching it. If I was that man's wife, girlfriend, or whatever, I'd have to grab my fork and stab his hand.

I'm A PC....And I Have A Problem Part II

The family and I went out earlier to a few stores and while we were in BJs, I saw they had some laptops out that actually worked. I played around with a few after noticing they all had Vista on them and I have been curious to see how Vista works. Frankly, I didn't see much difference in it than XP. I thought the interface was pretty nice, although I do not care for the 3D flip thing. I also like that the new Windows Firewall is 2 way now- inward and outward (XP is only inward).

So, why do I want to run screaming into the night at the thought of switching to Vista? Because I do not want to deal with the compatibility issues I keep hearing about. I already know my current copy of Pod+Rescue is not going to work in Vista and heaven knows what else is going to malfunction when I am forced against my will to switch to Vista. I just pray that I end up buying a computer with a printer already included in the bundle because my instincts are high that my current printer will not work with Vista. I think I used my current printer with my last computer, which has Windows ME on it. My last computer also has the flying Windows screensaver. Whatever happened to that? Why did Windows get rid of it? And did you know it actually has it's own Wikipedia entry?

Windows....what are we going to do with you?

I have been using Windows for a long time. Sure, the first time I ever used a computer was back in elementary school, which were those big huge Macs that were the size of a full grown toddler and had screens the size of my hand palm. We used to play Number Maze, or whatever the name of the game was where you went through a maze as a horse to get to the carrot. But the first computer we ever owned in my house was a Compaq. It had Tabworks and it came with AOL 1.0. Or that was on our second one. I can't remember. Boy, it's funny to think of computers back in the day. You see ads and they're like "OMG ITS AMAZING Get 6 bytes of memory for only $25,000!"

I do like Windows. I like it's ease, it's desktop, and it's flying Windows screen saver. However, Windows needs to stop releasing so many goddamn versions and work on it's security problem (and bring back the flying Windows screensaver). I am going to post my latest virus scan and highlight the number of viruses/unwanted programs it was scanning for:

Is that not ridiculous? Do you know how many programs I have on my computer to keep it as clean as possible? Here is what I have: Avira Antivirus, Spybot Search & Destroy, Superantispyware Free, Blacklight Rootkit Eliminator, Spywareblaster, Spyware Guard, Hijackthis, A Square, Spyware Terminator, Malwarebytes, and Winpatrol. Online scans I use: Ewido/AVG Spyware, Kaspersky, Windows Live One Care, and occasionally F-Secure, Panda, McAfee, and Trend Micro. I switched to Firefox with Noscript, McAfee Site Advisor, and Ad-Block Plus. I also have Opera, but I barely use it because it's a system hog since I upgraded to 9.5. Every time I open it, the little message comes up on the taskbar that says "Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low : Your system is low on virtual memory". But what can you expect from a computer that is still in the Stone Age with 256MB of RAM?

The whole reason I have become so obsessive over computer security is due to back in the fall of 2006. I received an email from Monster.com and it told me I needed to download something and I stupidly went ahead and did so. Crashed my entire computer. I had to reformat the entire thing. What amazes me is no matter how careful you are, you can still end up with a virus.

My sister's computer has recently fallen victim to the Facebook trojan so now I have to get a hold of her laptop and try to clean it up. This should be fun.

Vice President Cheney to Undergo More Tests - But Not for His Heart

Arthritic knees? I thought they would say something like a soul. Four heart attacks? I thought he has only had three! How is this man still alive after all of them? The only thing I can think of is Heaven certainly doesn't want him and Hell is reluctant to take him. I think the Devil is even scared of him.

God, I hate that stupid "it's Miley!" on The Soup.

As if anything can grate my nerves anymore, I think my cellphone battery has bit the dust permanently. I charged it for a while, unplugged it, it had a full battery, and a few hours later, I pulled it out to check if I had any missed calls and it was dead. Now I didn't let it fully charge, but even so when I do that, it may go down a bar. I have been having some trouble with it the past week. I leave it to charge overnight and when I unplug it the next day, it takes a couple times to get it on. But I didn't think it was going to go dead this fast. It's an old Samsung E105; I have had it 3 or 4 or possibly even 5 years, so I was expecting it to die sometime in the next year. I like my phone, though. I don't want to get rid of it.
