It's a presidential election year, but it's only February, so it's not time for me to go batshit freaking insane yet. But I despise Rick Santorum with the passion of a bazillion fiery suns. Anyone who stands there and says "I believe and I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created — in the sense of rape — but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you" and "to make the best out of a bad situation" in regards to getting pregnant from a rapist has absolutely no business being near the White House. I don't know what planet or time period this douchebag is living in, but it certainly is not Earth or 2012. I hope God strikes him down as slowly and painfully as possible and he burns in the deepest level of hell. Aw, don't cry, Rick! It's a gift from God, Rick! Accept it, Rick!
Once again, I can see abortion is going to be a battleground in the election. Why does this have to be an issue every year? Or any time for that matter? I don't understand what is so hard for anti-choicers to comprehend. Outlawing abortion is not going to get rid of it. It is still going to happen, illegal or not. And outlawing it is going to lead to more deaths, because women are going to have resort to dangerous methods to get an abortion and putting themselves and the unborn child at risk for deadly infections. But I guess it doesn't matter now does it, if a grown woman dies? After all, when a woman has an abortion, the clump of cells doesn't get a right to life, and according to anti-choicers, the only things that deserve rights are embryos/fetuses.
I'm no bra burning feminist, but this kind of shit brings out the radical feminist in me.
