Random Thoughts

Wow, I'm really starting to slack anymore. Since I have last posted:

- I did end up having to attend the deposition. It was a huge waste of my time, although at least I was still paid. Judging by the questions I was asked, if this is what is being taught in law school, good God. The best part was when her attorney asked me what day of the week did the accident happen and I said a Friday. Kind of threw all of the attorneys in a tizzy. Apparently the accident report had the day before. I'm unsure of a lot of things but I'm 99.99% sure that ice storm happened on a Friday, even came home that day and pulled up weather archives, which said freezing rain happened on Friday January 10th. Now the date could have been an honest mistake on her part. But someone else wasn't doing their research and fact checking. I even went back to previous posts on here and sure enough, it definitely sounded like it happened on a Friday.

- The tooth behind my root canaled one was starting to really give me trouble a few weeks again. I ended up having to have another root canal. Yay me. I had it done at another office this time. Apparently my dental office doesn't refer to the other place anymore. Not sure why, but I'd certainly like to know. The dentist at first seemed hesitant on doing it because I suck so much at describing my symptoms but once he went in the tooth, he said oh I definitely would have needed it at some point. Pretty sure I heard him say I had irreversible pulpitis. And he confirmed the crack in my tooth. I was pretty annoyed though when he looked at my x-rays and said one of my canals in my first root canaled tooth wasn't fully filled and he wants to keep an eye on it. Why was it not done properly in the first place? It wasn't like some general dentist did it, an endodontist did it. It should have been done properly! And if there was an issue, then I should have been told about it, although for all I know, I very well could have been, but since I could barely understand a word she said, who knows?

And that's really been it. Not much has changed. A month later, I'm still feeling blue from the holidays, I still wish I'd get hit by a tractor trailer on the way to work. There are just no words to describe how much my coworkers get under my skin. And this manager needs a reality check. I don't how the fuck she's ever had managerial positions before, because she's a piss poor excuse for one. I can understand having good relations with your employees, but she is way too fucking chummy with people. Especially my FWA. Again- I really and truly don't understand how anyone tolerates my FWA. Even just sitting there doing nothing I want to punch her in the face.

It's weird- I feel so goddamn stupid all of the time and my job makes me feel really inadequate and yet I feel like I deserve better. I basically feel like I'm lowering myself and settling working in this office. There's no kind of incentive in that office. No promotions, no ladder, nothing. And despite how stupid I feel, I feel like I can, and should, make something much better of myself.

I've been following the Weather Channel off and on today, because even though it doesn't affect my area, I'm interested in following the severe weather coverage. All the years I've been reading the Storm Prediction Center, I think only two or three (give or take, I can't remember) times I've seen a high risk day. Especially in the winter months. And I know the last time I was on there, all three of the tornado watches that were in affect were PDS. Scary, scary shit.

And one more thing- after this weekend, I'm so proud of my gender, despite the fact that it's 2017 and we should not have to be marching demanding equality and rights. I also love how on Facebook every single time I see someone criticizing the women's marches, it's always a man.

Random Thoughts

So Tuesday I'm going about my business at work, not having too bad of a day, when I see the little Outlook email preview pop up in the lower right side of my screen. I open up the email and it's from our legal team. I'm apparently being summonsed for a deposition in November regarding our former temp who slipped and fell in the parking lot. I received the email about 10 minutes before I was clocking out for lunch. And I spent that entire 10 minutes shaking on the inside and doing everything in my power to not completely lose it.

I can't believe that this frivolous crap has even gotten this far. And me have to speak in front of fucking lawyers? This should go just wonderfully, considering I am as good at public speaking as Donald Trump is at not being a complete misogynistic pig.

Random Thoughts

Another weekend down, back to work again. Blah! But hey, at least my FWA is on vacation all week so I don't have to hear that obnoxious laugh for five days.

When I first get logged in to my computer at work in the morning, one of the first things I open up is my email. On Friday, I do such and I see an email from someone I don't know with a subject line of "[name] vs. [company]" and I kind of start to feel a little nervous. I open it up and see it's addressed to my manager's boss and me and starts off with the introduction that the person is from the legal team. So I really start feeling scared but then I read the rest of the email and quickly went from scared as fuck to pissed. Some chick we had as a temp two years ago is suing the company after slipping and falling in the parking lot. And my manager's boss had signed the incident report and I apparently was listed down as a witness in the report and this legal person had a few questions for us.

Frankly the only thing I remember is that it happened during that unexpected insane ice storm we had and when I had pulled up to work, she was on the ground next to her car. I did not actually see her fall. What I want to know is how I was put down as a witness, because this is news to me. I'm going to guess my old manager just took it upon herself to put me down as a witness without telling me, asking me for any witness report, or anything of that nature.

I swear.....people.

Random Thoughts

I never seem to remember my dreams much anymore, unless they are incredibly embarrassing or terrifying, but for some reason, while I was in the midst of brushing my teeth, I remembered my dream last night. In my dream, for some bizarre reason, I happened to notice I had a copy of One Direction's CD from the library and it was ridiculously overdue and at first I thought, eh, I'm too lazy to take it back today, but then thought, oh I guess better take it back before the rabid OD fans come after me with pitchforks and torches and burn down my house.

I heard some story earlier on the news about some bitch from NJ (god, just keep embarrassing yourself, NJ; we don't have a bad enough reputation as it is) who is claiming she was fired from her job for being too hot. I almost laughed my ass off at her. Hot? I don't think so. She ugly! She looks like Baby Spice beaten with an ugly stick and then stuck in a tanning booth. And then the news goes on to say that Gloria Allred was representing her or something and....well, I won't even give my opinion on that bitch. She makes me want to shank someone.

Then again, I suppose it must be nice to have that much self-confidence and appreciation of yourself. It must be nice to be able to look in the mirror and like what you see, instead of wanting to smash it with your bare hands and then shoot it with a .45.

I was sitting and thinking last night about how much I want to be in a relationship with someone, but that right now it just is not a possibility. As much as I want to, I would be playing with fire giving my heart to someone. But being alone is breaking my heart. Where do I win in this?

It also occured to me last night that if anyone in my family ever forced me to go to the hospital, that any amount of trust I have left in my body, would be gone. And it does not even matter if admitting me to the hospital would make the difference between life or death. I would never be able to trust my family or anyone ever again.

The Stupid Of The Day

N.J. Man Sues Walmart For $1 Million Over Intercom Prank

"severe and disabling emotional and psychological harm"? Are you for real? You know, I could think of a million things in my life that have caused me "severe and disabling emotional and psychological harm", but I am not suing. Why? Because one, they are abnormal things that should not affect someone as deeply as they affect me and two, I am not that fucking stupid.

Oh, America, keep it up. Never stop with the stupid lawsuits.

ETA 5/19: I just read an article about this in the Courier Post and apparently this is what his lawsuit claims the prank did to him:
Battie says he has needed medical care due to the incident’s impact. His lawsuit contends the incident caused “severe and disabling emotional and psychological harm, resulting in depression, anxiety, anger, loss of sleep, loss of appetite, paranoia, anti-social tendencies and loss of enjoyment in life activities.
Are you fucking kidding me? I don't know what makes me want to punch something more- this asshole, or the asshole lawyer who took on this asshole's case.

Comment Of The Day

From HP user speedy0999, in response to this article:
I'm suing the radio station that was playing a song I didn't like and when I was changing the station I ran off the side of the road and scratched my car... then I'm suing the beer company for making the woman I met look alot prettier than she actually was.. then I'm suing that guy who told me that the ATM machine was across the street, but, didn't tell me to look for cars before crossing.. and then I'm suing that lady that said the chicken tasted goo, but, when I ate it... yuk (sic)

The Bitch, Please Of The Day

Police Handcuff Ga. Kindergartner For Tantrum

I snorted loudly at this part:
"Kids are being arrested for being kids," said Shannon Kennedy, a civil rights attorney who is suing the Albuquerque, N.M., school district, where hundreds of kids have been arrested in the past few years for minor offenses – including such things as having cellphones in class, burping, refusing to switch seats and destroying a history book. In 2010, a 14-year-old boy was arrested for inflating a condom in class.
Kids being kids? Since when is tearing stuff off the wall, throwing books and toys, and throwing a shelf considered normal behavior for a kid? Typical uberliberal lawyer bullcockery.

And then the article on MSNBC.com, Mommy Dearest says this:
"She has mood swings some days, which all of us have mood swings some days," she told WMAZ-TV. "I guess that was just one of her bad days."
Mood swings? I go through about a million mood cycles a day and you don't see me throwing stuff around. Okay, sometimes. But never at anyone. And usually in private, because it's very rare I will ever allow someone to actually see me get really angry. But mood swings and a bad day are the reasoning behind her disgusting behaviour? Give me a break.

My god, what is happening to the future generations? I never heard shit like this when I was younger. I saw fights here and there, and one time a kid threw an apple at a girl's head. That is about the worst I remember. But nothing like what you hear nowadays. This story, that little bitch that attacked her teacher over taking her fucking Halloween candy, kids killing gay classmates, elementary school children raping classmates, etc. It seems like more and more kids are becoming miniature sociopaths. What in the hell are parents doing at home, besides OBVIOUSLY NOT DISCIPLINING THEIR HEATHENS?! And this is one of those typical stories where Mommy and Daddy and their little precious snowflake never do anything wrong. It's always everyone else's fault. It's everyone else's fault that their little demon snowflake is a demon and it's everyone else's fault that they fucking suck as parents.

Oh, but it's okay. Their little brats will be sent to a psychiatrist, where they will be slapped with bipolar or ADD or conduct disorder or whatever new disorder of the month is out at the time, and then they will be put on medications that the psychiatrist is being largely compensated for prescribing, despite the fact that none of these monster drugs are approved for children under 18 and god only knows how much more they fucking up their already fucked up minds.

The WTF Of The Day

Parents sue over blown call in hopes of N.M. playoff spot

They are suing? Really? Over football?

I don't know what is sadder in the legal world- the idiots that decide to file these lawsuits, or the lawyers that decide to take the cases on. I will never forget the one time in work we had a future patient who was suing his employer because he stood on an office chair WITH WHEELS to put something up and fell off and ended up getting hurt. Is simple physics really that difficult for people to understand? I know we certainly did not get the cream of the crop in there, but come on! And then one time there was some bitch who had about 15 claims against her employer over the stupidest shit, like walking in one day and the wind catching the door and yanking her arm back. Gee, I wasn't aware that employers could control the weather!

The WTF Of The Day

THIS:
A Bridgeton man accused of striking and killing an 81-year-old South Jersey man while fleeing from police in a stolen paramedic vehicle has filed a lawsuit against police.

In a lawsuit filed in federal court Friday, Michael Jones, 46, claims officers from the Vineland Police Department were negligent in chasing him at speeds near 100 mph.

"Their negligence caused me to have an accident, kill someone and hurt myself as well," Jones stated in a lawsuit filed from Cumberland County prison. "This incident could have been avoided."

Jones was charged with felony murder and eluding police after allegedly striking and killing Alfred Costantino of Vineland on March 30 in a paramedic vehicle stolen in Franklinville. Jones allegedly drove the Dodge Durango to Vineland, where police spotted him and started a pursuit. Police say they broke off the pursuit shortly before the collision.

In the lawsuit, Jones states he is seeking $1.25 million in damages to cover his medical expenses and upcoming legal fees. (from the Courier-Post)
Oh, no, there was nothing wrong with him running from the police in a stolen vehicle and....you know what? I cannot even respond to this. Surely it must be a joke.

The Bitch, Please! Of The Day

Lindsay Lohan's Delusions Know No Bounds

Shit like this is exactly why I never fail to laugh at the joke "what do you call a thousand (depending on who tells it) lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start".

Yes, Lindsay, I contacted E-Trade's marketing department and their whole world revolves around you and they spend every freaking day from morning until night trying to come up with ways to make fun of you.

I wonder why God felt that when he had to take one celebrity, he chose to take Brittany Murphy instead of this annoying little disgusting cunt. Seriously, Lindsay. Just fucking overdose already. Or better yet, do a murder-suicide- kill your parents and then yourself.

This made me think of a Kirsten Dunst movie where her character reminded me of me. Come to think of it- her character had the same first name as me! Boy, I guess the writer of the movie was trying to make a mockery of my life. Gah! How dare them!

*flips open Yellow Pages to Lawyer section* Time to sue!

The Bitch, Please! Of The Day

Woman Sues Burger King For Texts About Shakes and Whoppers

The texts caused her actual harm? I suppose next she'll be suing BK for making their food irresistable and causing her to weigh over 500 pounds.

Look, I would never argue that Nazi Germany and concentration camps were a horrible thing, but when I read articles like this, it makes me wonder if all eugenics are really that bad.

It also makes me rethink evolution.

These comments on the article made me laugh:
Boy hearing about that woman's plight is making me sick so l think l will sue her for 5 million dollars!!!!!!!!

This lady has hurt me. I have lost my motivation to work honestly and hard for my money, knowing that people like her can make millions in frivilous lawsuits, causes me to want to search for a likewise method to make money while the legal system gets slowed down even more. Let's all sue her, it would be just as justifiable. (sarcasm of course)
You should see my job. I can't tell you how much I am willing to bet that most of the cases I see are filed by people who seem to just simply not want to work, but for some reason, don't resort to welfare like others. Guess it wouldn't pay as much as opposed to suing someone else for your own goddamn stupidity or for something out of their control. What are the statistical odds that you get hurt once and then several more times on a job that is not even hazardous? Since when is carpal tunnel syndrome the fault of your place of employment? Come on now. Get real, people!

PS, did I not mention that I do finally have a job?

With stupid lawsuits increasing practically every second, I think I may file a lawsuit against humanity for pissing me off on an hourly basis.

The WTF Of The Day

DJ AM's Estate Files A Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The plane crash caused him to commit suicide? That's it. Brain, I am officially filing legal action against you. I think I will go for "emotional distress".

God, I am so sick of stupid lawsuits! If I ever became president (try not to shudder), the first thing I would do is ban lawyers. The lawsuits I read about every day are absolutely preposterous. Some aren't, but most are just a big case of people not watching what the hell they are doing!

Some of the stupidity I see when I am out is just absolutely mind blowing. When I was on vacation, our hotel had a gym and every morning, my sister and I went and worked out. The gym was small- the few machines they had were in a straight line down in this order: 3 ellipiticals, 2 bikes, and 3 treadmills. One day, this woman comes in with her son, who was maybe 8 at the most. I was on one of the treadmills and I see the kid climb on the one next to me and next thing I know, Mommy Dearest starts the machine up for him. I mean, there wasn't a big huge sign on the wall that said "No one under 18 allowed" or anything to be followed. And you just know, had something happened to that kid, she would have sued. Why are parents so dumb nowadays?

And I am honestly expected to do jury duty on Wednesday? Does the idea of me possibly being a part- albeit small, but still a part- determining someone's fate not instill major fear?

Oh, how fitting- "Fuddy Duddy Judge" just came on.

Things That Annoy Me Part VI

The plane crash with Travis Barker and DJ Am- I thought it was a sad situation, especially for the people who died. Then I heard that DJ Am was not only going to sue multiple companies, but the estates of the pilots and I think that is a lot of shit. Then I was going through some old People magazines last night and there was an article in one about the crash and it showed a picture of one of the pilot's wives and sixteen year old daughter and the blurb underneath stated how hard they, especially the daughter, were taking the accident and it just filled me with rage. These people are devastated over the loss of their loved one and he is actually going to have the balls to fucking sue them? They had nothing to do with the crash! His medical bills are probably through the roof, but he it is not like he is exactly hurting for money and suing the companies is probably enough. It sounds like the pilots made a good decision to me. Hey genius, if they had taken off, how would have they landed with a blown tire? Dumbass.

The show I saw a commercial for about really obese people who are at their wits end- One lady was saying that if it wasn't a sin, she would commit suicide and I felt like screaming. A lady who probably shoves down several pounds of food a day down her throat while people are starving is sitting there on her 400 to 500 pound ass saying suicide is a sin? Lady, gluttony is a sin, too.

Kidz Bop- ignoring the whole "kidz" instead of "kids" thing....I don't know who told these kids they can sing, but they should be taken out back and shot. Most music today is annoying as is. Adding kids to it is like rubbing salt into a stage three bedsore.

Celebrities who get things for free- they can afford it with no problem. Look at the money spent on the giftbags at the Oscars and stuff. Why not use that money to help, oh, I don't know, the people that keep the entertainment industry alive?

Dog movies that play that stupid "bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay"- basically that is all of them

Discovery Health- I love this channel and am going to be sad when Oprah takes it over (isn't she worth enough money?), but the thing that annoys me out it is like 90 to 95% of the shows on it cover two things- babies or extremely obese people

Windows Updates- they slow down my computer and often have that annoying pop-up where you either have to restart your computer now or it will automatically restart in 5 minutes

Unprotected electronics- people leave their iPods as is and then stick them in their pockets and break them and then they expect Apple to pay for repairs. Use a cover! I saw a guy at the DMV one day walking around with a several thousand dollar Apple laptop under his arm. No case or anything. Besides the fact that he was a walking target for muggers, why in God's name would you carry around an expensive laptop like that with no protection? Are you fucking stupid?

People who leave expensive things in unlocked cars- Over the summer, there was a rash of break-ins in a Medford neighborhood and people who had left their cars unlocked had also left expensive laptops and jewelry and whatever in their cars. And then were surprised when they were stolen. First off, regardless of whether your car is locked or unlocked, WHY would you leave that kind of a stuff in a car? Do you know how many times I have walked by cars and see laptops or handbags just sitting there, clear as day? These people don't even make an effort to hide them. And second, how can you be that trustworthy in life to leave your car unlocked? Now I am a bit paranoid, but I still would never leave my car unlocked, no matter how safe I feel.

TV show cops- can any of them ever have a normal childhood? I know it's a stressful job, bu can any of them ever have a half-decent temper? They all seem to fly off the hand so quickly. Can a female cop ever just be tough and not be a complete frigid bitch and can the male cops ever just not be horny bastards? And can't one woman cop (or CSI) go without having her tits hanging out all over the place?

Grown up girls who call their fathers "daddy"- it just creeps me out. A little too "electra complex".

Family members who favor first born children- one of the things in life that irritates me the most. My father's side of the family is NOTORIOUS for this. Gee, I am sorry for being born last because, you know, I had so much say in when I was born.
