The Hell Radio 104.5?!

First off, let me start by saying I adore Radio 104.5. There is the most important reason why- if it was not for 104, I probably never would have discovered who MGMT is. They are the only station in my area who plays them. It also has the most amazing playlist in existence on the radio.

The problem is, they only play a fraction of that amazing playlist. I have discovered some absolutely incredible songs on their new music show on Sunday nights ("Red Eyes" by the War on Drugs, "Diamonds", by the Boxer Rebellion, "You Haunt Me" by Sir Sly, "Think Of You" by MS MR, "Recover" by CHVRCHES, etc) and yet I never hear any of those songs on their regular line up. No, instead I hear the same damn songs all the time. "Take Me To Church" and "Riptide" several times a day. Oasis constantly. "Brain Stew" by Green Day. That fucking "My Own Worst Enemy" song. I'm sorry, can I beat the dead horse enough on how much I LOATHE that song? Only a smidgen more than that Rise Against song, the one about living on front porches and swinging like the wind and getting by on minimum wage. Yeah. Okay. Good luck with that.

And then there are songs they play for a while and then suddenly never ever hear again- "You Are A Tourist" by Death Cab, "Letters From The Sky" by Civil Twilight, "If I Had A Gun" by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, "Panic Station" by Muse, "We Used To Wait" and "Ready To Start" by Arcade Fire are just some examples from back in the day. And most recently they abruptly stopped playing "Bad Blood" by Bastille, "Guns for Hands" by twenty one pilots, anything by KONGOS, "Gold" by Sir Sly....there's others but I can't think of them at the moment. All really good songs that just disappeared out of nowhere one day. I don't understand why.

And one of the most offensive things is how the only MGMT songs they have played for years were "Kids" and "Time to Pretend". Then suddenly one day someone must have decided hey we should play something else by MGMT and despite having 3 fucking albums, they pull something off of Oracular Spectacular again. I love "Electric Feel" to death, but they couldn't have picked "It's Working" or- I'm really pushing it here- "Alien Days" or something off of the latter 2 albums?

ETA 11/22: "Undisclosed Desires" by Muse, "Monster" by Paramore, and "Coming Of Age" by Foster the People are other ones they just abruptly stopped playing. I am also trying to remember if they ever used to play "Called Out In The Dark" by Snow Patrol, but I can't remember, but if they did, they stopped playing that as well. And I want to say "The High Road" by Broken Bells as well, but I think every once in a blue moon they still play it.

9:42PM: And the list continues on...."Jump Into The Fog" by the Wombats, "Love Love Love" by Of Monsters and Men, "Carried Away" by Passion Pit, "Hell and Back" by the Airborne Toxic Event, "The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Giants" by Bear Hands, "My Sweet Summer" by Dirty Heads

Quote Of The Day

From user Red Polygon in response to this article:
Everything about that photo doesn't just scream "pretentious", it hauls every marching band on earth to the top of Mount Everest and roars "pretentious" into a 200,000 watt megaphone.
What is this Deadmaus dude's problem anyway? I could see if Win Butler specifically called him out, but he didn't. He just made a general statement and this douche, as usual, gets all butt hurt and flies off the handle. I thought I went through life with a ridiculous amount of anger in me, but I don't hold a candle to this ass. Chill out, dude, before you have a fucking stroke.

Song Of The Day

I was reading this article one day and I thought, where on earth have I seen those pants before? Then I remembered. And if I recall, he wore them like 2 or 3 days in a row.

Lyrics Of The Day

"We Used To Wait" by Arcade Fire:
I used to write
I used to write letters
I used to sign my name
I used to sleep at night
Before the flashing lights settled deep in my brain
But by the time we met
The times had already changed
So I never wrote a letter
I never took my true heart
I never wrote it down
So when the lights cut out
I was left standing in the wilderness downtown

Now our lives are changing fast
Hope that something pure can last

It seems strange
How we used to wait for letters to arrive
But what's stranger still
Is how something so small can keep you alive
We used to wait
We used to waste hours just walkin around
We used to wait
All those wasted lives in the wilderness downtown

Ooooo we used to wait
Sometimes it never came
Ooooo we used to wait
Sometimes it never came
Ooooo we used to wait
Still moving through the pain

I'm gonna write a letter to my true love
I'm gonna sign my name
Like a patient on a table
I wanna walk again
Gonna move through the pain

Now our lives are changing fast
Hope that something pure can last

Ooooo we used to wait
Sometimes it never came
Ooooo we used to wait
Sometimes it never came
Ooooo we used to wait
Still moving through the pain

We used to wait for it
Now we're screaming
Sing the chorus again

I used to wait for it
Hear my voice screaming
Sing the chorus again

Wait for it
This song always makes me sad whenever I listen to it. Whenever I hear it, I just want to lie my head down and cry. And there is something about the line "like a patient on a table I wanna walk again gonna move through the pain" that inexplicably depresses me the most.

I don't know what has been going on with me lately, but I feel like I am about to lose my mind and I don't even know why. Every time I walk, my legs feel shaky and like they lose all feeling and like I am about to completely separate from my body. It's a terrible feeling. I keep getting dizzy and I quite a few times I feel like my mind has actually blacked out for a couple seconds. I have times where I feel like I can't focus my eyes and like they go blurry. And it does not seem like anything I should really be concerned about it, because honestly, it feels all mind based.

Last Friday, I was out and when I was going into a store, my foot caught on a crack and turned over a little and I had a slight pain. It didn't hurt to walk on or anything, but it made me kind of nervous and in the grand tradition of things it turned my anxiety switch up. I have been a nervous wreck all week that I am going to do something to it. It doesn't hurt to walk on or anything still, but I do get a slight pain if I step on it a certain way. The pain feels like it's all in the bottom of the joints of my toes and it feels like the pain you get when you need to pop a joint.
And my toes just feel like they need to be popped and popping them will relieve the feeling temporarily. There is no pain if I press on my foot anywhere. I don't know what it is.

I was also starting to believe that maybe That Thing had finally phased out of my life, but over the past week, I have been wanting it really bad. It's terrible to have a problem that tortures you so badly, but the idea of telling someone is even worse because the ridicule you would get is incomprehensible. Especially when you yourself cannot even explain why you have these feelings. I ask myself, why would you want something like this, but even I can't give myself an answer. And it's terribly distressing to not be able to answer it. I just want it to go away.

And you know what doesn't help? That this particular thing I kind of have a fetish for. If I find someone attractive and I add this in to the equation, it increases the person's attractiveness.

I'm not ready to go into specifics here, but here is a question hinting as to what That Thing is- how do you tell people that you wish two perfectly functioning body parts would no longer do so?
