Before I head into yet another rant about the lousy POS I work with, I have to test something out over the next few days. Now I don't like to particularly discuss my intestinal habits in detail, but I have to for the sake of this. As I have said before, 99% of the time my intestines work, I feel great afterwards. But lately, I am either constipated or having diarrhea. When I have the latter, I have really bad bloating afterwards. I am starting to wonder if it all started when I started using Truvia. We have packets of Truvia in work and I figured I'd start using them in my coffee instead of aspartame, since I have heard stevia is one of the best sweeteners to use. But now I am starting to wonder if it's what is beyond these unusual cases of diarrhea and bloating. If I am lucky enough to go to the bathroom on the weekends, when I am back to using aspartame in my coffee, I don't have this problem. I think tomorrow I will go back to using the chemical shit.
I swear to God, if I could leave my job tomorrow I would. Not because of the job itself or the company. It's because I can't take my coworkers anymore. I'm tired of listening to them say how much they wish we would be shut down. Maybe they want to be on unemployment, but I sure in hell don't! Being unemployed fucking sucked! I'm tired of listening to my FWA's friend bitch how horrible the company is to her, despite the fact that she has been written up 5 or more times and IS STILL THERE. I'm tired of listening to my FWA bitch and moan about everything under the fucking sun, from her mother-in-law drama to how no one ever takes the blame for anything (pot, meet kettle). I'm tired of watching our one MA play on her phone constantly or on the internet.
That last one really put me in a bad mood today. I walked in today at five of eight and she was sitting at her desk, playing on her phone. Her computer screen said she was locked out. I think ten or fifteen minutes later she was still on her phone, and then decides to call IT to help her. And the whole morning, every damn time I looked over at her, she was playing on her phone. She returns from lunch around 1 (pretty sure she took longer than a half hour lunch, too) and for over an hour, she actually sat and did internet surveys. Once she was done that, I saw her do a little bit of work, and then it was right back to playing on the phone. Then she made an almost 20 minute trip to Starbucks- without clocking out. Monday morning, she was also in the office and had to leave at 11. She spent the whole three hours playing on her phone and shoe shopping on the internet. I said something to my FWA about her doing internet surveys for over an hour and she just looked at me and shrugged like oh it is what it is. I wanted to punch her in the face.
My FWA was getting on my last nerve today as well. I just have to laugh at the gall of her to say her friend never thinks she does anything wrong. My FWA is notorious for that. She never does a single damn thing wrong, it's always everyone else's fault. And then for her to stand there and have the nerve to complain about her friend not having money but buying unnecessary things- HAHAHAHAHAHA! Who is the one popping out an illegitimate brat in a few months without a pot to piss in?! God, she is so fucking stupid it pisses me off. Oh and she was looking through a chart with me earlier and she is one of those annoying pregnant women who has to constantly rub her belly and the whole time standing next to me she kept rubbing it and I felt like screaming JFC we know you're pregnant! And then she starts to tell me what DDD stands for and I interrupted her and snapped "I know what it stands for!". Just because she has been doing it for longer than me doesn't mean I have no idea what any abbreviations stand for.
And that reminds me- one day one of my coworkers asked what "DX" stands for and I said "diagnosis". Next thing I know she is asking my FWA what it means. Fuck. I was so damn insulted that someone actually took her word over mine. And was I right? Yes. Yes, I was.

Is It Or Isn't It?
I never actually mentioned before that, in addition to Wellbutrin, what made me have a nervous breakdown almost 3 years ago. Actually, the state that Wellbutrin put my head in is probably a cause of this as well, so in the end, I guess Wellbutrin and quitting Effexor cold turkey, and in addition to an extremely stressful semester of school and work were all of the cause of it.
But then I have to remember that part of it started before. Back in February of 2005, I had woken up with a urinary tract infection and had gone to the doctor. Got a urinalysis done and all that lovely stuff. Somewhere in between the visit and receiving the results, I read something on the internet about artificial sweeteners causing diabetes. Add in my current weight at the time and that, I started to worry that I had diabetes and that the urinalysis would show that I did.
Fast forward to November and the same crap happened all over again. I finally asked the doctor for a blood test and that came out with normal levels. And then right about when I started Wellbutrin, I started to notice that the eye floaters I am normally accustomed to ignoring had increased. Big time. Then it was worrying I had a detached retina. My eye doctor told me they were normal, with me being so near-sighted, so that stopped.
And then, for some reason, it started up again. And I guess Wellbutrin had my nerves so shot, that I started to believe I was seeing flashes of light as well, and then the worrying over detached retinas really hit the roof. And one day in work, I was so anxious over it, that I started to play around on the internet and came across a website that listed causes of flashes of light and everything I had seen before was there. But something new was there that I had never seen before- optic neuritis. I had never heard of it before, but by deductive reasoning and extremely good medical terminology skills, I figured it was some kind of eye nerve inflammation. I clicked on the link to learn more about that and what could cause it and there were two words there that I had remembered seeing as a side effect of artificial sweeteners as well and that blew it all up- MS.
It took me a couple of days, but I finally got over it after I realized that sweeteners only mimic it, not actually cause it. I was fine for a few days, but then one day, I thought, well, maybe I actually have it anyway. And that is when I turned into an absolute suicidal crazy ass bitch. It was horrible. I never remember being so scared of something in my life. And looking back, I don't even know why I would have ever thought I had it. I mean, initially in the beginning. After so long, I was so convinced I had it, I actually started to experience symptoms of it.
And once I quit Wellbutrin, that was the end of it. I was no longer scared I had it.
Now really actually thinking about it, I cannot see the logic in artificial sweeteners causing people to actually be diagnosed with MS. It doesn't make sense. Yeah, it is a difficult disease to diagnosis, since it can mimic so many others. But I can't understand if someone is diagnosed with it and continues to use sweeteners for several years that several years later, any clinical evidence would not show and a doctor could still diagnose them with it. I don't know how true it is whether or not a person can still have MS without any clinical evidence of lesions in brain scans, but I find it hard to believe. How can you have symptoms if there is nothing there to disrupt the nerve current running on the myelin sheath? That is the hallmark issue with MS. The myelin sheath breaks down and signals to and from the brain are disrupted. If that is true, however, I would think that sometime down the line, lesions would start to show.
In the end, it comes down to one question- who do you trust more? The government or the internet?
