Thankfully I didn't wake up feeling as crappy as the last time I did an enema, but I am still feeling pretty bloated. But at least all the, um, rectum pressure is gone. Man, that was bad. It was so uncomfortable I was seriously starting to contemplate donning a pair of gloves and taking care of things myself. I regret taking those antibiotics. Big time.
Today I had something happen to me in work that I have worried would eventually happen. I use Word for my work and one of the first things I did when I started working there was set Autorecover to save every 2 minutes. And in the grand tradition of all things Microsoft, I have had Word crash on me quite a few times and when I reopened the file, everything was recovered. Today I was working on a file for a good 3 hours and went to do something else on the computer and at one point I realized my report was no longer open. And when I opened it up, it was where it was when I opened it this morning. Meaning I lost a good 1/4 of an inch worth of medical records (about 2 pages worth of typed information and 3 hours worth of work for nothing). I felt like all of the wind was knocked out of me. I checked the AutoRecover settings- it was still set to save every 2 minutes. But nothing was in the AutoRecover folder when I opened it. I tried a few more things, came up with nothing, and finally came to the sickening conclusion that I was going to have to go back and reread and retype all I had read and typed since that morning.
First time in a while I broke down in tears in work. I didn't care (my FWA was the only one who saw me anyway). That was a lot of fucking work I lost. I don't understand why it didn't autosave like it's supposed to. Or why even if I accidentally closed out of Word, it didn't ask me if I wanted to save my changes when I made many changes since I opened it that morning.
I am so beyond frustrated with my work output. I honestly don't know what I can do to be able to concentrate better and work faster. I feel like my brain can't even function anymore and it's not like my brain is overly fixated on anything right now (it seems to be on a temporary hiatus from convincing me I have something wrong with me. I dread to know what will follow premature menopause, because each new one seems to terrify me more). I'm starting to wonder if I sustained brain damage at some point and my family is neglecting to tell me.

The Hell
I don't know why people rave about how wonderful Apple products are. Maybe I just have a reject, but I have had more crashes and reboots with my iPad, which I have had since December, than I have had with my desktop computer, which I have had for 5 years.
Ugh I am dreading going to bed. My head will not stop running. And of course I stupidly googled "atrophic vaginitis" and now I have myself even more convinced that I have it. FML.

BLAH!
I received a call from a recruiter the other day for a pretty good position. The hours are good. The pay is good. The position is good. The fact that I would have to work a weekend day and have a day off during the week is good. The only problem is the company is too far away.
I was filling out another application earlier and I had to answer what was my most favorite and least favorite position and why for each. Are they kidding me? HOW DO YOU ANSWER SOMETHING LIKE THAT?! I was so completely clueless on how to answer this!
This is why I bomb interviews all of the time. I have no clue how to answer their questions! And if HR recruiters really believe that by someone being able to answer these nutty questions that it somehow makes them more qualified for a job, I have a little news for you, recruiters. Those who can answer these questions are doing a little thing called BULLSHITTING. Just because they can think on their feet and know how to flatter people does not mean they can do a good job.
I just took a Microsoft Office skills test and I am absolutely astonished at how much of my Microsoft Office skills have disappeared! I am so aggravated! I can't even....FRICK!
ETA 7/30: My results for my tests were good. However, my Microsoft Office tests were a lot lower than they should have been. And for dumb reasons. A couple things I got wrong because while I did it correctly, I did not do it the way the test wanted. Like saving a document. I did not save the way the test wanted. I did not hit the Save button; instead, I went under the File menu and saved it from there. Because I am pretty sure the last time I took the test, I hit the Save button and got it wrong. What is the difference? I still saved it. Honey, please. Like I would not know how to save a document. And I manually entered in a function in Excel, instead of using the function button. Which I swore it told me not to do.

Quote Of The Day
From Futurama episode "Where The Buggalo Roam":
Bender: And even though the computer was off and unplugged, an image stayed on the screen. It was...the Windows logo!
Fry: That's not scary.
Bender: It is if you're a laser printer.

Random Thoughts
Goddamn companies. I bought a really cheap mp3 player back in January and it was $19.99 up front and then I would get a $10 rebate. The rebate came back in a Visa pre-paid card. Because the card has been sitting in my drawer for a week or so and annoying the hell out of me, I decided that when I went to dinner tonight I would use it for part of my balance. When I asked the waitress how it works, she tells me that only $8 will go towards my bill and a $2 fee. I was not about to lose $2 over that, so I decided to just pay with cash. And now I am wondering if I am going to have this problem everywhere I go. If so, that really blows. That means I really only get $8 back.
I just want to know if they charge a fee in all stores.
Ugh, despite how safe it is supposed to keep your computer, Noscript really gets on my nerves. You click on something, doesn't come up. Then you have to figure out which damn script it is to temporarily allow it. And sometimes that doesn't even work. If there are 1 or 2 scripts being blocked, no problem. But sometimes I go on pages where about 20 scripts are being blocked and I don't like to take the chance of temporarily allowing all scripts.
Apparently I am not the only one who finds it irritating because when I entered "noscript is" into Google, "noscript is annoying" was a suggested search.
I went to the movies tonight and usually when I go, I always demand to sit on the end. I like to be able to get up if I need to and not have to walk through a ton of people, plus I like to have only one person on the side of me because sitting that close to strangers is like strangulation. But tonight, there were a few people in the movies so my sister and I go to the top row and sit one seat over from the end, with me at the seat next to the empty last seat. A few minutes before previews, this ghetto kid comes and goes and sits a couple seats down from my sister. Then suddenly he gets up and out of all the empty seats in the theater, plops down in the empty seat next to me. And sure, one can say, well, what is the big deal, just get up and move. But you know how people can be- "oh you get up and move because I am [insert race]?". Trust me, it would not have mattered if he was black, white, or green with pink polka dots. Sitting next to me like that scared the hell out of me. I was almost to the point of full-blown panic attack before my sister got up and forced me to move.
One thing that did make me laugh at the movies was when I walked by one of the checkout registers, I saw that infamous gray Windows error box on the screen- you know, Blank has encountered a problem and needs to close; we are sorry for the inconvienence.
Are you, Windows? Are you ever really sorry?
I went to that interview on Monday, which actually was not an interview. It was an information session. I honest to God felt like I was in Disturbing Behavior. The conductor of the infosession seriously sounded like she had been absolutely brainwashed. She wouldn't stop smiling and was overly perky and just kept raving about how great and wonderful the company is. I wanted to bang my head on the table (since I couldn't obviously blow my brains out).

Things That Annoy Me Part VII
The term "Kool-Aid"- god, I am really starting to get sick of it. I have to wonder how many jerks who flood comment sections complaining about all of us that "drank the Obama Kool-Aid" are currently drinking the Sarah Palin Kool-Aid. Obama fans have nothing on this bitch's fans
Forwards- I can't believe these things even still exist. I think people are well aware by now that they will not die if they do not send the email out to 245,586,248 people in the next 5 seconds
That whole "why do hot dogs come in backs of 10 (or 6) blah blah blah"- I don't know about the rest of the world, but the hot dogs we buy come in packs of 8, as do our buns. And now I am going to go laugh for 20 minutes because I said "our buns".
TV Stations that play the same movies over and over again- which is most of them. If I have to see Spider-Man, Fantastic 4, A Cinderella Story, Bring It On (1 through 123), Drumline, Independence Day, I Robot, Wedding Crashers, Van Helsing, and about a hundred more movies that I can't think of right this second one more time, I am going to kill my television
Microsoft- somehow I think MS will be appearing quite often on this list. I have been hearing that Windows 7 is not that good and the more I read about Microsoft, the more I am starting to get convinced that maybe, just maybe, my next computer should be a Mac. But then I think of having to buy a new printer and all that and I get discouraged. I don't think I would have trouble learning OS X, but how would my current files work on it? There is software to run Windows on a Mac, but the computer will cost me enough as it is. I won't exactly be wanting to run out and drop another $70 on software. The main reason I look at Mac is for the obvious- security- but with my luck, I'd finally buy one and an abundance of Mac viruses will explode on the market, thus almost completely defeating my purpose of buying a Mac. Maybe I should just try Linux or something
Overprotective parents- you know what I am talking about. The ones that will hire babysitters or stick their brats in daycare, but no one is ever good enough to take care of their children. If the kid falls down and gets a bruise, they have a heart attack and scream that no one protected their little monster from the big cruel world. If the teacher tells them that their kid beat up every kid in the classroom, they'll freak out and scream about how there is no way that their precious little angel would do something like that, even if the kid is standing there among all the other kids and is the only one not crying and bruised. Now this doesn't apply to every parent out there, but since the parents I encountered at the daycare I worked at that were the most protective were mothers who didn't even need to be working, here is something....if no one is good enough take care of your bastard, stop being so fucking greedy and take care of the kid yourself. Stop worrying about what every Hollywood celebrity has and be a fucking parent. You CANNOT protect your child from every danger in the world. And yes, your child is quite capable of being a little bastard. Take it from a former TA- we would know; we spend more time with the kid than you do
Celebrities who spend every waking hour with another, say they are not dating, and then get married a few weeks later- please. Spare us the idiot act, Hollywood. America isn't that stupid. If you say "oh, we're just friends", we know you are not.
The human body- it pisses me off. No matter how good you take care of it, something can still go wrong. I do the full 2 minutes of teeth brushing twice a day, not to mention I have sealants, and still end up with cavities, yet most men I know never brush their teeth and never have cavities
The dramatic zooming in and blinking of the eye on medical mystery shows like Mystery Diagnosis- what is the point of it?
People who slurp food or make any kind of noise while eating- there is not much in the world that annoys me than this, especially when there is no reason to do it. I know people do it with spaghetti and hot soup and that makes me stabby enough, but practically everyone in my family is notorious for it and they will do it with cereal, warm soup, fruit cups, and god knows what else. And they wonder why I hate eating dinner with them. I can't even see the word "slurp" without wanting to go into a homicidal rage. It's nasty.
Moron celebrities who open their mouth and use derogaroty terms, and then play the victim card by saying they didn't mean what they said- It's not what they say that annoys me; it's how they stand there and say they didn't mean it. You either did or you're just stupid. Stop lying. If you hate a particular group, just say it already. Don't stand there and call someone the N word or related term and then say you didn't mean it because there had to have been some reason you decided to use it. No tolerant person will just use words like that.
The song "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor- I liked it the first school dance I went to. And then it started to play at the next one. And the one after that. And then every wedding I went to. And then I started to hear it in every movie where a break-up occurs. Enough is enough. It is first on my list of songs that are NOT ALLOWED to be played at my wedding.
The octuplet mother- I can't even look at her without wanting to punch her in her ridiculous looking lipped face. DYFS, make yourself fucking useful for once. I can't believe this bitch wants to be a counselor. Bitch shouldn't be anywhere near psychiatric facilities, unless she is a patient.
Vermont Teddy Bears- really? People actually will spend like $90 for a frigging teddy bear? Please. Just save the money and buy me a nice piece of jewelry for under a $100. It can be found.

The Bitch, Please! Of The Day
In regards to abortion:
What do the morons in this country not get? There is never going to be a cure for cancer. At least one that will ever see the day of light. But hey, it's not my problem. Keep wasting your time and money doing your 3 day breast cancer walks and buying all your pink, green, red, whatever shit and donating to various other medical malady funds. Bottom line is- and it should be pretty fucking obvious with the bailouts- that this is, as Mary Elizabeth Lease said, a country and government of Wall Street, by Wall Street, and for Wall Street. Why cure someone when you can keep pumping drugs into them, thus making more money for Wall Street? Duh!
Dammit, I was going to do a beta test of Windows 7, but I can't because I don't meet the minimum requirements. My memory amount is too small; I'm still only running on 256 MB worth of RAM.
Stupid Microsoft. They need to work on making their system security airtight instead of creating all kinds of fancy schmancy do jiggies like that flying aero Window shit. And they need to bring back the flying Windows screensaver! I will not rest until they do so. If I die tomorrow, I will not cross over to the other side until I wreak my revenge on everyone who has slighted me and Windows re-releases the Flying Windows screensaver. So get cracking, Microsoft!
I'm sorry, I just kind of have a bigger stick than usual up my ass today. I just get a tad bit annoyed when people offer me their help and support and then when I do so, they either ignore me or disagree with/contradict everything I say. Now I know why I stopped talking to that kid before. He was and still is a huge pain in the ass to talk to.
And to celebrate my pissy mood, here is the Video Of The Day as well, "Here To Stay" by Korn. I was a big Korn fan in my freshman year of high school, but then kind of forgot about them and then this song came out in 2002:
You are 100% right, its not “termination a pregnancy” its killing a child. A child that could be the person who has a cure for cancerIt could also be the next Hitler or Bin Laden, so what the hell is your point? And learn proper English- it's terminatING a pregnancy or termination OF a pregnancy!

Things That Annoy Me Part VI
The plane crash with Travis Barker and DJ Am- I thought it was a sad situation, especially for the people who died. Then I heard that DJ Am was not only going to sue multiple companies, but the estates of the pilots and I think that is a lot of shit. Then I was going through some old People magazines last night and there was an article in one about the crash and it showed a picture of one of the pilot's wives and sixteen year old daughter and the blurb underneath stated how hard they, especially the daughter, were taking the accident and it just filled me with rage. These people are devastated over the loss of their loved one and he is actually going to have the balls to fucking sue them? They had nothing to do with the crash! His medical bills are probably through the roof, but he it is not like he is exactly hurting for money and suing the companies is probably enough. It sounds like the pilots made a good decision to me. Hey genius, if they had taken off, how would have they landed with a blown tire? Dumbass.
The show I saw a commercial for about really obese people who are at their wits end- One lady was saying that if it wasn't a sin, she would commit suicide and I felt like screaming. A lady who probably shoves down several pounds of food a day down her throat while people are starving is sitting there on her 400 to 500 pound ass saying suicide is a sin? Lady, gluttony is a sin, too.
Kidz Bop- ignoring the whole "kidz" instead of "kids" thing....I don't know who told these kids they can sing, but they should be taken out back and shot. Most music today is annoying as is. Adding kids to it is like rubbing salt into a stage three bedsore.
Celebrities who get things for free- they can afford it with no problem. Look at the money spent on the giftbags at the Oscars and stuff. Why not use that money to help, oh, I don't know, the people that keep the entertainment industry alive?
Dog movies that play that stupid "bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay"- basically that is all of them
Discovery Health- I love this channel and am going to be sad when Oprah takes it over (isn't she worth enough money?), but the thing that annoys me out it is like 90 to 95% of the shows on it cover two things- babies or extremely obese people
Windows Updates- they slow down my computer and often have that annoying pop-up where you either have to restart your computer now or it will automatically restart in 5 minutes
Unprotected electronics- people leave their iPods as is and then stick them in their pockets and break them and then they expect Apple to pay for repairs. Use a cover! I saw a guy at the DMV one day walking around with a several thousand dollar Apple laptop under his arm. No case or anything. Besides the fact that he was a walking target for muggers, why in God's name would you carry around an expensive laptop like that with no protection? Are you fucking stupid?
People who leave expensive things in unlocked cars- Over the summer, there was a rash of break-ins in a Medford neighborhood and people who had left their cars unlocked had also left expensive laptops and jewelry and whatever in their cars. And then were surprised when they were stolen. First off, regardless of whether your car is locked or unlocked, WHY would you leave that kind of a stuff in a car? Do you know how many times I have walked by cars and see laptops or handbags just sitting there, clear as day? These people don't even make an effort to hide them. And second, how can you be that trustworthy in life to leave your car unlocked? Now I am a bit paranoid, but I still would never leave my car unlocked, no matter how safe I feel.
TV show cops- can any of them ever have a normal childhood? I know it's a stressful job, bu can any of them ever have a half-decent temper? They all seem to fly off the hand so quickly. Can a female cop ever just be tough and not be a complete frigid bitch and can the male cops ever just not be horny bastards? And can't one woman cop (or CSI) go without having her tits hanging out all over the place?
Grown up girls who call their fathers "daddy"- it just creeps me out. A little too "electra complex".
Family members who favor first born children- one of the things in life that irritates me the most. My father's side of the family is NOTORIOUS for this. Gee, I am sorry for being born last because, you know, I had so much say in when I was born.
The show I saw a commercial for about really obese people who are at their wits end- One lady was saying that if it wasn't a sin, she would commit suicide and I felt like screaming.

An Angry Letter to Number 2 (My Computer)
Dear Number 2:
So....what's the deal here? What is with the Seek Error Rate? It goes from 200 to 100, back to 200, back down to 100, and so on and so on. Is it just a flaw in Active SMART? Is it because you have a Western Digital hard drive? I googled it and it seems other WD users have the same problem.
But let me tell you something- if you are planning on failing anytime soon, I would think twice about doing so.
Although....if you do fail, I can replace you with a skinnier, far more productive computer. Excuse me while I have a Homer Simpson moment.
Sincerely,
The person who uses you all the time

I'm A PC....And I Have A Problem Part II
The family and I went out earlier to a few stores and while we were in BJs, I saw they had some laptops out that actually worked. I played around with a few after noticing they all had Vista on them and I have been curious to see how Vista works. Frankly, I didn't see much difference in it than XP. I thought the interface was pretty nice, although I do not care for the 3D flip thing. I also like that the new Windows Firewall is 2 way now- inward and outward (XP is only inward).
So, why do I want to run screaming into the night at the thought of switching to Vista? Because I do not want to deal with the compatibility issues I keep hearing about. I already know my current copy of Pod+Rescue is not going to work in Vista and heaven knows what else is going to malfunction when I am forced against my will to switch to Vista. I just pray that I end up buying a computer with a printer already included in the bundle because my instincts are high that my current printer will not work with Vista. I think I used my current printer with my last computer, which has Windows ME on it. My last computer also has the flying Windows screensaver. Whatever happened to that? Why did Windows get rid of it? And did you know it actually has it's own Wikipedia entry?

I'm A PC....And I Have A Problem
Windows....what are we going to do with you?
I have been using Windows for a long time. Sure, the first time I ever used a computer was back in elementary school, which were those big huge Macs that were the size of a full grown toddler and had screens the size of my hand palm. We used to play Number Maze, or whatever the name of the game was where you went through a maze as a horse to get to the carrot. But the first computer we ever owned in my house was a Compaq. It had Tabworks and it came with AOL 1.0. Or that was on our second one. I can't remember. Boy, it's funny to think of computers back in the day. You see ads and they're like "OMG ITS AMAZING Get 6 bytes of memory for only $25,000!"
I do like Windows. I like it's ease, it's desktop, and it's flying Windows screen saver. However, Windows needs to stop releasing so many goddamn versions and work on it's security problem (and bring back the flying Windows screensaver). I am going to post my latest virus scan and highlight the number of viruses/unwanted programs it was scanning for:
Is that not ridiculous? Do you know how many programs I have on my computer to keep it as clean as possible? Here is what I have: Avira Antivirus, Spybot Search & Destroy, Superantispyware Free, Blacklight Rootkit Eliminator, Spywareblaster, Spyware Guard, Hijackthis, A Square, Spyware Terminator, Malwarebytes, and Winpatrol. Online scans I use: Ewido/AVG Spyware, Kaspersky, Windows Live One Care, and occasionally F-Secure, Panda, McAfee, and Trend Micro. I switched to Firefox with Noscript, McAfee Site Advisor, and Ad-Block Plus. I also have Opera, but I barely use it because it's a system hog since I upgraded to 9.5. Every time I open it, the little message comes up on the taskbar that says "Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low : Your system is low on virtual memory". But what can you expect from a computer that is still in the Stone Age with 256MB of RAM?
The whole reason I have become so obsessive over computer security is due to back in the fall of 2006. I received an email from Monster.com and it told me I needed to download something and I stupidly went ahead and did so. Crashed my entire computer. I had to reformat the entire thing. What amazes me is no matter how careful you are, you can still end up with a virus.
My sister's computer has recently fallen victim to the Facebook trojan so now I have to get a hold of her laptop and try to clean it up. This should be fun.
