Random Thoughts

We received an invitation in the mail today for a surprise 80th birthday party for my paternal aunt. On the fourth of July. At my fat bitchy cousin's house. Who in the hell throws a surprise birthday party on the fourth of July? Oh, right. My dumb ass family. I really don't want to go because I just can't stomach that side of the family, especially after the whole thing with my sister's baby shower. Plus, my sister was planning on having a cookout that day.

I had to laugh. Back on Memorial Day, she brought it up and then says her husband says fine, but they can't afford to buy all of the stuff. So basically suggesting that people need to bring stuff. It's all fine and dandy, except whenever we have a cookout at our house, do you know what my sister and hubby bring? Nothing. Do you know what do they offer to bring? Nothing. My parents can't afford to be buying all the crap, either. But apparently that does not matter. And everyone pushes for them to have one and who gets stuck doing everything? My mother.

And I have to laugh how now my father is all family oriented with his in-laws since he became a grandfather. A little too late for that, old man. You already ruined my childhood by denying me time with my grandparents.

Earlier my mother was talking about a friend of the family and that she is being really nasty probably because she is going through menopause. Of course the first thing I thought was oh great, that probably explains why I am so nasty lately. I still am feeling anxious over premature menopause. Thankfully, right now, the Addison's fear is laying dormant, but I know something will lure it out soon. Two years. This October will be two fucking years since it started. You would think by now I would accept that maybe I do not have it, as I am sure I would have had a crisis by now. But I can't seem to shake it off. Now I feel like I am jinxing myself by the previous statement.

I am currently on a second book of the Lucy Stone series by Leslie Meier and while they are not terrible books, this book, Trick or Treat Murder, is starting to grate on my nerves. How many fucking times do we need to hear about Lucy breastfeeding or doing something with the baby? I swear it was about 75% of the book. WE GET IT. And what the hell is with the men in these stories? Lucy's husband is disrespectful as hell. They weren't written that long ago for men to behave the way they do. It's like reading a book from the goddamn 1950's!

I read something one day that sounded like oysters are killed for their pearls. I don't know how true it is, so I will have to google it. I adore pearls, but if that is the case, then I will never wear them again. I know people will say oh it's only an oyster! But I can't stand the idea of them being killed for their pearls. It seems so unreasonably cruel. Seems like a lot of jewelry is obtained hideously.
