The 20 Worst Hipster Bands: The Complete List

Since when is "hipster" considered a genre of music? I guess it doesn't matter that most, if not all, of these bands write their own music. I don't even know who most of the people are on the list, or know them but never have heard their music, but if they write their own music and play instruments, then I have mad respect for them. They're musicians, not just singers. But I guess that doesn't matter. They're not visibly appealing to society. Because looks and mediocrity are just everything nowadays in Hollywood. This is why all of these bands end up on the backburner, and the singer of that bloody awful "Call Me Maybe" aural holocaust and One Direction are tearing up the charts. Funny thing is, I don't even have that much of a problem with 1D, but they were the first thing to pop into my head. They're certainly less annoying than the Lesbeaver. Theyir voices are really not that bad. And probably because I have a bit of a cougar crush on that little curly haired imp Harry (oh god why; I'm so ashamed of myself, although I just think he is cute in a I want to adopt him as a baby brother thing. Look at him! He's so adorable!).*

The Stupid Of The Day

Actually, this is a little old, since it was said on the day the healthcare reform thing was upheld, but it's been irking me since I heard it. My local news station was interviewing people on what they thought of it and some dude was complaining about it, saying he never gets sick and it's more worth it to pay out of pocket to go to the doctor's with as little as he gets sick.

I understand his point. I never get sick either, so it's very rare I ever have to go to the doctor's. Like I have said before, I appear to have a super immune system like my mother, despite never being breast fed, although I am still just waiting for one day it to unleash its vengeance against me in the form of an autoimmune disease. The only time I am at the doctor's a lot is when I am going through a "disease crisis" and need to be reassured I am not sick. And that is actually where NOT having insurance is beneficial, because when I don't have it, I can't feed my stupid obsessions.

I also don't think people should be forced to buy health insurance. But having no insurance doesn't help if I were to suddenly develop cancer or seriously injured in a car accident. Are you going to think the same about paying out of pocket for that, buddy? Naturally, most people don't think bad things can happen to them, but it can. And you need to be prepared for it.

Jesus. It must be nice to be that delusional in life to think bad things will never happen to you.

I also saw an article in the Sunday paper disputing someone's argument against health care reform. And it was pretty good, up until the part where it says the uninsured use ERs and we pay for them anyway. Uh, yeah. I am positive if I were to go to the ER and be treated for something, my bill would just be written off. That would be about as likely as me going up to the Human Services department and being approved for Medicaid. In other words

And look, I like "Time To Pretend"; I used to love listening to it in work, although it was quite a long time before I even discovered that it was and I quote myself "the same guys that sing the tree song". But after hearing Oracular Spectacular, I've gotten kind of "meh" on it and I wonder how some of the other songs never made it out on to the radio. I really love "The Handshake". It, as well as "4th Dimensional Transition", makes me inexplicably and violently horny, mostly at the "I was a loner, I was just waiting by myself" etc etc.
