Thank the days for our dreams
Thank the days
Thank the days for our dreams
Thank the days
There are
A thousand different ways
We must try
To hear each other say
No matter how different
It's still the same
We all feel
Love and pain
Slip off your views
Unbutton your mind
Stay awhile
1000 miles
Light a candle
To your soul
Deja vu 1000 miles old
Thank the days for our dreams
Thank the days
Thank the days for our dreams
Thank the days
Close the door
And lock the time
Jump over the wall
On the other side
Come on in, the dreams are fine
Now I know why I like this place
I pull the covers
Over my head
Black velvet darkness
Above my bed
It's beyond what I've seen or read
Now I know why I thank the days

Lyrics Of The Day
The inspiration behind my blog title and my absolute favorite Deee-Lite song...."Come On In, The Dreams Are Fine":

Quote Of The Day
Darren Hayes on Clive Owen:
My God, he is such a handsome man. Why? Why?! WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE GAY?!
Speaking of Darren, I noticed that just like with Deee-Lite, any mention of a reunion of Savage Garden is met with hostility. It annoys me when bands break up and they won't say why. Why can't they just give some sort of reason? They don't need to be specific. If Deee-Lite broke up due to Dmitry and Lady Miss Kier, fine, then why can't they just say they broke up because of problems between the two of them? We don't need exact details. Just some sort of reasoning. I think fans have a right to know why their favorite groups broke up because last time I checked, they would have never made it as a band if it wasn't for the fans!
Speaking of annoying things, I saw a comment on Lady Miss Kier's Facebook page (at least, it claims to be really hers; it does seem to kind of check out) that once again compared Lady Gaga to her. Every time I see their names together in a sentence, I get stabby. Am I blind or something? I don't see how they can be compared! This looks nothing like this! Lady Miss Kier looks pretty normal. Can't say the same for Lady Gaga. If you put that outfit on Lady Miss Kier, she would make it look good. And Lady Miss Kier wouldn't need to wear that freaking net thing over her face. Stop freaking comparing them, although I do have to say that comparing Lady Miss Kier and Lady Gaga is a fraction better than the absolutely preposterous comparison of Deee-Lite and Paramore I once saw. What, they both die their hair red and are the only chicks in the group? OMG it's like they're freaking twins! (Yeah. I don't think so.)
That is still not the worst comparison. If I ever dare see one comparison of Lady Miss Kier to that piece of smelly ass trash Kesha- notice I do not put the dollar sign in her name because symbols do not belong in names- I will go absolutely postal.
Good God. I was starting to like Lady Gaga, but now she is just starting to get on my nerves. I seen the video for "Telephone" the other night and....WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ALL ABOUT? The video didn't even have anything to do with the song! How does a song about not wanting to pick up a call churn out a video that Quentin Tarantino would get a boner over? The song is pretty good, with the exception of Beyonce. Speaking of annoying people....
....he's obviously very handsome....Darren has excellent taste in men, although I would argue that "handsome" does not justify Clive Owen. His voice alone makes me wanna tear his clothes off with my teeth.

The Webpage Of The Day
Cue the heavenly music! The Goddess herself has released a blog!
Notes From The Road Miss Lady Kier
This is going right in to my Blogs I Like To Stalk section.
You all do realize my worship of her on here is grossly overexaggerated, right? I certainly think she is the coolest person on earth, but it's not like I am out hunting down where she lives or leaving dead rats in her mailbox or anything. Give me some credit here! I am not that insane.
HOWEVER....if she were to appoint me her official stalker, I would gladly accept. You shan't be disappointed! *whistles "Every Breath You Take" while cleaning off binoculars*
Speaking of which, I am reading Good Times, Bad Boys and there was a part where the main character mentions her ex is watching Futurama and several pages later, she wakes up and puts Vh-1 on and mentions that there is a one hit wonder special on and all I could think is if I go to the next page and there is mention of "Groove Is In The Heart", this book is automatically getting 4 stars just for referencing two of my favorite things in the world. Not that "Groove" is even my favorite song, but it's still a Deee-Lite reference, ain't it? And sure enough, it was.

Lyrics Of The Day
Once upon a time, long before Disney was raped by Michael Eisner, they actually made good movies. With that said...."Pink Elephants on Parade" from Dumbo:
Look out! Look out!Which reminds me. I was going through some old archives and I came across the January 30th, 2009 posting and in it I stated that if the Deee-Lite video disappears, I will scream. Since said video was yanked by WMG....*screams* (think Fry finding out who is grandfather is)
Pink elephants on parade
Here they come!
Hippety hoppety
They're here and there
Pink elephants ev'rywhere
Look out! Look out!
They're walking around the bed
On their head
Clippety cloppety
Arrayed in braid
Pink elephants on parade
What'll I do? What'll I do?
What an unusual view!
I could stand the sight of worms
And look at microscopic germs
But technicolor pachyderms
Is really much for me
I am not the type to faint
When things are odd
Or things are quaint
But seeing things you know that ain't
Can certainly give you an awful fright!
What a sight!
Chase 'em away!
Chase 'em away!
I'm afraid need your aid
Pink elephants on parade!
Pink elephants!
Pink elephants!

The WTF Of The Day
Not anything big, but surprising me otherwise.
My mom knows the words to "Groove Is In The Heart". We were coming home from getting my car inspected yesterday and it came on 95.7 and I heard her start singing along with it.
And no, it is not because I play it on a neverending loop or anything like that. I don't. In fact, it is not a song I even listen to very often because I think Deee-Lite had better songs than that.

Random Thoughts
Tasty Deee-Lite | TMZ.com
I just looked at that picture again and I realized that her shirt (or dress, probably dress) looks like its covered in those balloons clowns use to make balloon animals. I swear, that woman can make anything look good on her. If she came out in a Hefty Hefty Hefty trashbag, she would probably look fucking awesome in it. I watched the clip of them on Vh-1's Greatest Songs of the 90s and I noticed that the dude from What Not To Wear was a commentator and I wondered what he thought of her style back then, and then I wondered what his co-host Stacy London would say about her style. Bitch would probably rip it apart. And do you know what I say to that? BITCH, PLEASE!
I went down the shore over the weekend and even this early in the season, I still managed to get some sunburn. After last summer, and many previous summers, and in addition to being pale, if I develop skin cancer one of these days, I will not be surprised. Other than that, it wasn't too bad of a weekend. Although I thought the shore would be a lot more empty. But it wasn't. Because it was fucking cheerleading competition weekend. Cheerleaders are annoying, and the younger they are, the more annoying they get. If it weren't for the oh-so-obvious "cheerleader" on most of their uniforms and the big ridiculous bows in their hair, I would have thought I was looking at a bunch of midget whores. Awful lot of fat cheerleaders anymore, too. Kind of gross to have to look at the big rolls of fat sticking out of their cut-out uniforms. And the mothers are even worse. You can tell that cheerleading moms fall into two categories: 1. they were former cheerleaders themselves and are now massively fat or 2. they wanted to be cheerleaders, but weren't thin or pretty enough to make the squad so now they force their daughter to live their dream. Just like those pathetic mothers that force their daughters to do child beauty pageants.
My bitterness towards cheerleading is a lot more complex. If I had to explain what it is, then I would have to reveal something else that I would prefer to not reveal. I can assure you it has absolutely nothing to do with ever wanting to be a cheerleader (I never did, except briefly in high school until I went to the try-out meeting and almost had a massive stroke trying to suppress my laughter at the coach with her whole "cheerleading is life!" spiel).

Here Comes Another Failure!
I have that job interview on Monday (I originally had it for last Monday but I had to reschedule) and I am in no way, no how even remotely prepared for this. I can't even think of questions that could possibly be asked. Last time I had the questions all planned out, I was thrown for a loop and asked questions I have never been asked before in my life (it could ruin my chances of ever securing a job with them, but Target asks the most ridiculous questions in their interviews; I can normally keep my cool, but by the middle of the interview, I was ready to stand up and scream "are you fucking kidding me? All this to stand around and fold clothes? A fucking monkey could do this job!". It just completely blew my mind that a stupid mediocre job like that could be so hard to obtain, especially when I see so many fucking morons working there.)
I don't know how I went all through school and I came out with absolutely no knowledge of how to do a job interview (I had 2 during high school, but they just asked me a couple of questions and I was hired). I don't know how to "sell myself". I don't know why you should hire me. Put me to work and find out for yourself why I should be hired. You will not be disappointed. Unless you are expecting me to do brain surgery. Not only will you not hire me, but you will also be sued.
And one of the things that ALWAYS gets me is "do you have any questions?". Every single one I have just flys the coop. And then I think of them several hours later.
And some people tell me they will help me prepare for it, but boyfriend is more important. I don't care that my sister has a boyfriend; he is nice (when he feels like it; most of the time he is just miserable as shit), but she is one of these people who will automatically change for a guy and put him above everyone else. Maybe I am wrong, but I grew up with the notion to never, ever put anyone above family (unless family is a bad thing, of course). When my sister has a boyfriend, she will barely ever hang out with me and if we make plans, she will ask me- right in front of him-if he can come along. What am I supposed to say? And if he isn't around, she will rush everything so she can get home to him. BUT- and this has happened with every past boyfriend, if they break up, she is right around, wanting to hang out all the time. She even told me with her last boyfriend that she invited me to come along because she didn't want to hang out with him alone (their relationship started to get tense towards the end). In other words, I was being used. I got used enough by friends in high school; I don't need my own sister doing it as well.
She just promised to help me prepare for it and when I said something the other day she completely blew me off. I got this instead- "please, you are being spoon-fed this job!".
Sorry, I have been in a really bad mood, for different reasons. One, I really don't know why. Two, because after repeated attempts of telling a friend I do not want any political email, I received another yesterday, whining about how the liberals are trying to destroy religion. After losing my temper, I just decided the hell with it and banned him from emailing me. I warned him once and I warned him twice. Three strikes you are outta here. I hardly want to hear this kind of shit coming from a man who cheated on his wife over the internet. I was one of the few who actually stayed talking to him and he couldn't just do me that one goddamn favor.
Ugh, how I wish the world would end already. The whole reaction to that stupid Bachelor show the other night just further fueled the fire that I wish it would happen. People honestly think that show is real? Really? Unbelievable. I feel absolutely no ounce of sympathy for the pathetic cunts who go on the show. I love the ones who are like "oh, I haven't even met him nor do I know anything about him, but I already know he is my soulmate!".
Ugh! And then to make everything worse, it's daylight savings time weekend! That gives me one less hour to prepare for this interview. Oh, and I just signed into my secondary Myspace account and received a message that one of my pictures has been deleted because young users use Myspace. It was a Deee-Lite picture. First off, the picture is in an album only viewable by me. I keep them there for back-up. Second, no one is naked in the picture. She has a shirt on! I have seen less clothing on teenagers than this picture. I don't know if it has anything to do with what she is doing in the picture, although what that is is not very clear.
Amazingly enough, the picture where Lady Miss Kier is actually naked, covered up appropriately though, is still there! That was the one I thought was deleted.

Random Thoughts
I am currently reading Something Blue by Emily Giffin and just like Trading Up, this book is a chore to read. The author is a good writer, but the main character, who I disliked in Something Borrowed, is extremely unlikable. Just like that character in that Lauren Weisberger book (I can't even remember the name of it), Darcy Rhone is a Janey Wilcox-lite. Easily one of the most vain characters I have ever read. I'd like to punch the character in her face.
I have read plenty of the so-called "chick lit" books and the more I read, the more I am starting to get annoyed. The constant brand name dropping is annoying. No one can ever just look at their watch; they have to look at their Rolex or Cartier watch. They cannot just feel someone's bones through their coat; they feel someone's bones through their Burberry trench coat. Okay, we get it. If I could read just one chick lit book that does not mention Tiffany's, Manolo Blahniks, or Jimmy Choos, I think I would die of shock. Not all of us women are that fascinated with those things. I love jewelry, especially diamonds, but for the most part, I don't care where it comes from.
Ugh, if I could go one day without having to hear something about Lindsay Lohan, I think I would die of shock (again). Seriously- does anyone even care what she does anymore? I had to laugh one night on TV she said she lost weight because she has been working a lot. What the hell does she do? Is it really that difficult to pretend to be a lesbian?
I read an article earlier about songs that were originally written for someone, but someone else ended up singing it and a lot of the comments have the same basis- only true artists/musicians write and perform their own songs. I wonder if I were to go on and mention Deee-Lite what the response would be. I don't think many people realize, except true fans, that all their songs were written by them. Lady Miss Kier wrote all the lyrics and a few were co-written by Dmitry. They did sample (and gave the credit; Lady Miss Kier was not fond of people sampling and not giving credit), but other than that, everything was written by them. They weren't good enough for mainstream America, but they were without a doubt, true musicians.
Yeah, I just realized I mentioned that already. Oh well. Never hurts to reiterate it.
I could watch that video over and over. Lady Miss Kier is absolutely GORGEOUS in that video. Very old school movie actress. I love listening to her talk, too. Sophisticated and sultry, yet there is still an urban infliction. I wonder who the 47 different artists are that have sampled them.
If you have not caught Vh-1's Black to the Future, do make sure you do. It's hilarious. I love all those crazy shows, like I Love The 80's and all that.

Lyrics Of The Day
"Fuddy Duddy Judge"!:
Edit: Fixed to the best I could do.
Who is the winner of the war?Edit: I know my hearing is bad, but I just went over this while listening to the song and there are so many mistakes, it's not even funny. And I got these lyrics from the actual CD booklet!
Is Mother Nature gonna keep the score
Are we one for all or are we all for one
Or on the outside of a deal well done
Slicker than an oil spill cover up
Left alone like a homeless person's cup
As civilations rise and fall
Libraries burn down to the ground
But love remains standing tall
Although history is a matter of opinion
(rap)
Technology only goes in one direction
The planet shrinks by speed of communication
Resources are being exhausted
Explain to my son just how we lost it
So many crises, so many needs
Leaving us weak with compassion fatigue
Disposable? No!
We push to recycle
Cause we all know a place that's not so delightful
Campaign contributions run the puppet show
Wall street types let the cocaine flow and flow
Media cowards are afraid to speak
The defense funds the movie of the week
Men in sheeps clothing rob the poor
A bad interpreter could start a war
(rap)
Military industrial complex
Channel into a medical context
Take the soldiers that we trained for warfare
Build an army that's trained for healthcare
Take the people that's building bombs
And put them to work building low cost homes
Take the children that's living among us
Teach em the truth about Christopher Columbus
All the leaders who said to trust us
Let me tell you something about their justice
Get 4 years if you're Michael Milken
But 10 to 15 if you rob the milkman
Let the people lead let the leaders follow
Today's the day don't search for tomorrow
It's time for us to make some adjustments
Cause nature's gonna make the final judgement
Though we will rise and fall
We must be one for all
Don't let your mind be weak
Don't be afraid to speak
Just look at history
And then we've got to see
That hate will never pay
Love is the only way
The jury better hurry on down
Just get on down to planet Earth
Planet Earth
Planet Earth
Planet Earth
Transmitting
Here comes the judge
Here comes the judge
Here comes the judge
The fuddy duddy judge
Fuddy duddy judge
Fuddy duddy duddy judge
Edit: Fixed to the best I could do.

Finally! I finished Chasing Harry Winston. Definitely one of the most painstaking books I have had to read (on my own that is; generally anything I was forced to read in high school or college was also downright dreadful). One hundred pages left to read and I put the book down and said "shit, I'd rather be reading The Hot Zone again!". This book....I really have no idea what its exact purpose was. Leigh was the most tolerable character, although still dislikable. Emmy....wow, let's glamorize being a whore now, should we? Adriana was a Janey Wilcox lite and I was going to scream if I had to see "querida/o" one more time. The only character worth liking was the crazy ass bird Otis. I like The Devil Wears Prada. I read it a long time ago, way before the movie came out. But this book was dreadful. It's like the time I read Citizen Girl. I read The Nanny Diaries right after Prada and enjoyed that as well. CG, on the other hand....well, I still have no idea what that was about. I read Dedication last year and I was actually surprised by how much I liked it, particularly the decade of the moment pop culture references and aside from the fact that most of the book, I just wanted to grab Katie, shake her, and scream THE HELL WITH JAKE!
Make sure you check out the new link under "Sites I Like To Stalk" entitled Cheesin Chadwick. It's a site dedicated to Chad Knaus and while I am not someone who would call him a stud, the site is hilarious. The first time I read it, I almost pissed my pants multiple times. And speaking of crew chiefs, I finally see a ring on Bootie Barker's hands. Its about time. He announced he was engaged in fucking 2007. Like I would ever forget that. It depressed the hell out of me at the time, since I was smitten with him. Why? I can't ever explain. Of course, now I couldn't give a shit. I was upset at the time for watching the show, but if I hadn't, I wouldn't have ever been reminded of who Deee-Lite was. But imagine if in some strange parallel universe, I had the oppurtunity to marry him....it would never work. Why? Because judging by past interviews, he is obviously a die-hard Republican and was a staunch supporter of the Iraqi War. I'd be fighting with him constantly.
Gee, a Republican Southerner who works in NASCAR....who would have thunk it?
Beta Blocker Blocks Feelings of Bad Memories
Hey, I wouldn't mind some of that. Now if they could just create something that zaps bad feelings and thoughts. The first thing I would do is find where the thought is that pains me so greatly and BOOM! zap it. That would rule. No longer will I have to sit around day in and day out and stress over how I could ever tell someone something that unfairly makes other people angry.
People suck.

Things That Annoy Me Part VIII
People who actually knew who Deee-Lite was and why try to compare other groups to them or other singers to Lady Miss Kier- there is never going to be another of either, so stop with the comparisons. There could never, ever be another Lady Miss Kier. It is completely impossible.
The term BFF- I thought I used to hate lylas (love you like a sis) in middle school. Of all the chat speak, this is the one that annoys me the most (after lolz or lols; how do you laugh out louds? if it's supposed to be laughs out loud, then the s should be after the first l), especially since now it is everywhere. Even in the stupid TV Guide, I see grown men and women writing articles and using the term. It's annoying enough when loud, way too peppy prepubescent girls use it; it's even more annoying when grown ups use it. Chances are, no one in the world will be your best friend forever.
Bad grammar- I let a grammarical error here and there slide and heaven knows I make them, usually either because I don't realize it or I am angry and typing at the same time and don't give a shit. But when I come across internet postings (usually written by prepubescent girls) where the grammar in a posting is so horrific that if I were to copy and paste it into Word and try to run a spell check, my computer would explode- that annoys me. What the hell are they teaching kids in school today? Do kids honestly hand in papers with text speak? If I had students hand me a paper that even contained one trace of text speak, I would automatically give them a zero.
People who talk with their mouths full- I can handle a little bit of food. But people like my dad who have their mouths completely full and talk- it's just gross. Shut up and chew your damn food.
When you are the next person in line and another register opens and the cashier says "I'll take the next person in line" and someone else runs over- Did they not say THE NEXT PERSON IN LINE? Not the last, not some random number....THE NEXT.
Parents who try to be their kids' best friends- you're the parent; act like it. You can still be a parent and be a friend as well. My mother and I are very close, but she still would think nothing of slapping me across the face if I back-talked to her. Discipline them and stop worrying that they are going to hate you because 1. they will get over it and 2. anyway you look at it, there is going to come a time where they hate you no matter what.

Video Of The Day
I swear- if this video disappears down the line, I am going to scream.
With that said, for the VotD, I present to you an artist profile on Deee-Lite. Dmitry and Lady Kier are so sweet in it, it makes me want to go into a diabetic coma. And I am not saying that in a mean way; they really were sweet. Make note of the ginormous yellow platforms and the ancient Mac:
Am I the only one who wonders which one wore the pants in the relation?
And since I found out they had dated, I have been trying to find out if the two of them were ever married or just together and at first I didn't think they were. But then so many articles started saying they were, that I kind of pulled back on saying no, I do not think they were. And something that struck me as a little funny is Lady Miss Kier says "we're not really married". What does "not really" signify? Unless she is referring to the fact that they had been living together for around 7 years. Sort of like a common law marriage kind of thing.

Change
A couple weeks ago, I was going through the HBO channels to see what was going to be on and I saw a movie entitled Groove was going to be on after midnight. Curious as to what it could be about, I hit the information button and it described it as a movie that takes place in a rave in San Fran.
Now long before I knew who Deee-Lite was there was always a sort of club culture that I always said I would rather be a part of than the clubs I see. I don't know how much the club culture has changed since the days of Deee-Lite or if it just depends on where you live, but I have been to one club in my life and aside from the fact that it was a lousy experience, I just can't picture a club like that or clubs that you see people like Paris Hilton going to playing music like Deee-Lite or house or techno or whatever. The whole atmosphere just seems completely different. As I got more informed on Deee-Lite, I realized, despite the fact that Dewdrops in the Garden is my least favorite album by them, that it is actually the rave culture I have been interested in.
Watching Groove further proved my point. I was too young when the rave scene started (which itself is a bit hard to judge; many people say it was 1998 to 2000 and something, but Deee-Lite was part of the rave scene, so it had to have started before that), so whether the movie was acurate or not is not my call; however, I thought it was a pretty cool movie. And that song at the end of the rave, "Heaven Scent" by John Digweed, was unbelievable. It gave me the chills from head to toe.
In other news, I wish people would start leaving things the way they were. Change can be good, when it is actually beneficial. I have been using McAfee Site Advisor for some time now and last night, it update to version 2.9.242 and needless to say, it is awful. Completely horrible. I thought it installed last night and when I came on under my XP account today, it gave me the message that it upgraded and the EULA and if I agreed to it or not. I hit yes and another Firefox window opened thanking me for upgrading....and then the EULA message came up again. So I hit I accept once again and a Firefox window opens up again, thanking me for upgrading. And then the EULA agreement comes up again. Figuring it had something to do with being under a limited account, I switched over to the Adminstrative account. Same problem. I ended up having to uninstall it. I am going to try installing it again, but I don't know what I am going to do if I have the same problem. I am extremely disappointed because I really liked using it. I don't know how reliable it was, but I felt safer surfing with it. Why can no one ever keep things the way they were?
Just like Adidas. I used to love their shoes that resembled Sambas, but they were white and had colored stripes. I think they are called Superstar. I lived in them in high school. I had a pink pair and blue pair. Lady Miss Kier has a pair on in the second picture. I had an almost, if not completely, identical pair. I tried to look for a new pair and all I can find is pure white ones. I don't want pure white. White and I do not mesh well together; whenever I wear all white, stains are magnetized to me. I have no idea how I can ever get married in a white wedding dress. I am going to have to wear a black dress, even though I have more of a right to wear a white dress than probably 95% of the American public. I also found a pair of Superstars in Lady Foot Locker that are quite frankly one of the ugliest pair of shoes I have ever seen. They had multi-colored stripes and were splattered from front to back with little multi-colored Adidas logos. When you turned them over to look at the sole, it was clear and there were more little multi-colored Adidas logos. They were so hideous, they were beautiful. I immediately fell in love with them and want to buy them.
Speaking of white, I was surprised one day reading the newspaper to find out how many fellow white people find the term "cracker" extremely offensive. I think it's funny as hell.

Things That Annoy Me Part V
Certain movie franchises- Beethoven, Air/Hockey/Whatever Bud, American Pie, Final Destination, The Land Before Time, Dr. Doolitte, etc....enough is enough already
Weight loss supplement commercials- Hydroxycut, etc. You will not lose weight taking these drugs without changing your lifestyle and if they tell you so, it's a lie. You will not lose weight while still consuming 9,546 calories a day and sitting on your ass. You will not get a ripped body like Mr. Hydroxycut Joe "I've Been A Resident For 10 years".
Mariah Carey- once upon a time, she had a voice. And now she just wastes it. Mariah, you have a fucking eight octave range voice; use it! And get rid of the over-inflated diva attitude also. You have a great voice, but you did not cure cancer, so get over yourself already.
Pro-anorexia/bulimia webpages- what the hell is wrong with these people? It's one thing to be sick yourself, but why on God's good earth would you encourage other people to be sick fucks like yourselves? It's sick, man!
The term "white non-Hispanic"- what is the purpose of it? If you are white, you are obviously not Hispanic, so why waste space writing that?
Joe Francis- the whole Girls Gone Wild shit makes me want to tear someone's eyeballs out, but Joe Francis really grates my nerves. He is not even attractive. He looks like someone that would have been shoved into a locker in high school. Do you know what my mother would do to me if she saw me on one of those videos? I wouldn't be able to sit or walk for a year.
Programming in BASIC- this was one of the last classes I took in college. And it was the most frustrating class I have ever taken. It was easy in the beginning, but later on, it got extremely difficult. My teacher was no help. How I ever passed with a B+ is nothing short of a miracle.
"What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong- actually, I like the song. A lot. But it annoys me because I could be in the best mood in the world and if it comes on, I start to cry. It's one of the few songs out there that can actually, without fail, make me cry every single time I hear it. Whenever the episode of Home Improvement comes on when they think Randy is sick and they play it at the end while showing clips of him as a baby and a little kid, I bawl. "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers is another.
The commentors on Vh-1- most of them are funny. But after a few times of watching the "Groove Is In The Heart" segment on 100 Greatest Hits of 90's, I came to the conclusion that none of the commentors could have been fans of Deee-Lite because if they had been, they would have talked about more than just the dancing and the video imagery. Hardly much mention of the group themselves. And along with the 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders, why is it the only other video they show is "Good Beat"? They had three other videos!
The oil industry- I am getting sick of their shit. Gas prices [supposedly] rose because we were using too much, so we scale back on use, they scale back on production, and gas prices rise due to the scaling back of production. We can't win. No matter what we do, the bastards find some pittance of an excuse to raise it. And the Saudi Arabians and other oil drillers are probably laughing hysterically. They have us in the palm of their hands. Sure, we can drill here, but the question still remains- are we, as in Americans, going to get the oil that we drill?

Things That Annoy Me Part III
Adding "-gate" or "malfunction" to the end of everything
Heely shoes- I want to stick my foot out and trip every little monster I see skating around busy stores on them. And then I will laugh hysterically.
Little girls who put on tons of make-up and dress all grown up and then throw childish tearful tantrums when they can't get a toy- wow, you look really grown up now, don't you?
People who ask me what I am going to school for- if one more person tells me "why don't you become a nurse like your sister?" I am going to tear my hair out. If I wanted to be a nurse, I would be in nursing school.
Snow- I liked it when I was little. Now that I am older and have to venture out in it, I hate it. Especially since the last time I drove in snow, I was doing about -6 miles an hour and I still almost managed to spin out.
People who tell me that you do not have to be concerned if you do not go to the bathroom every day to- I know that. But if it is a week and half or more, I think I am perfectly legitimate in being concerned.
People who, during the election, wore pins or posted signs that said "I am voting for the chick"- Palin was not the running candidate. Gee, I can just imagine the reactions of Rush Limbaugh or Faux Noise if people wore pins or posted signs that said, "I am voting for the Gaffe Machine" or if they had done the same thing if Hillary had been the Democrat Vice Presidential candidate. Rush Limbaugh probably would have screamed and ranted and raved until his big fat head exploded (praise Jebus) and Faux Noise probably would have talked about it for most of the election season.
People who complained that being a community organizer isn't experience- neither is being "just like us" and a mother
Restaurants that do not offer free refills or even one free refill
Text messaging charges- I constantly receive spam text messages. And my phone bill is higher because T-Mobile charges for every incoming text messages. I can understand charging for outgoing texts, but why should I have to pay for text messages I didn't ask for?
Amateur DJs- Shit, I am sick of seeing good ones get passed over. Who do these people think they are? Honestly. Sam Ronson demands $25,000 a session? Give me a break. I don't even think Lady Miss Kier demands that much (I heard something like $2,000 or so) and she is more longer well-known, more well liked, actually earned her fame, and worked with 2 DJs for several years. Now I have heard in the beginning she was supposedly not very good, but I am sure she is better than these douchebags. I bet Dmitry or Towa Tei don't even demand that much and they have been DJs for a million years.
The new "fauxmosexual" craze- yes, let's give the religious right more ammunition in believing that sexuality is a choice, thanks to cunts like Tila Tequila, Hohan, and the Ikki twins
Stupid lawyers and stupid lawsuits- I don't know how to elaborate on this anymore. America is getting out of hand with stupid lawsuits. Should I sue my brain for causing me emotional distress, my metabolism for not being faster, and a host of other things? Should MS patients sue their immune systems for attacking their nervous system and causing blindness, paralysis, deafness, etc? Should kids with muscular dystrophy sue their parents for giving them the MD gene? Should cancer patients sue their own bodies for mass producing hazardous cells? It's all so absurd. I especially hate the fat asses that eat McRat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, have a heart attack, and then sue McRat. It's your fault for allowing yourself to get so fat!
The terms "preggo" and "preggars"- it's pregnant for Pete's sake!
And lastly....Lord knows I despise Sarah Palin, but I swear, if I have to go to one more site and see someone say "you betcha!", "gotcha", or "by golly!", I am seriously going to rip that person's endocrine system out. Yes, I have been watching too much The Soup.

And lastly....Lord knows I despise Sarah Palin, but I swear, if I have to go to one more site and see someone say "you betcha!", "gotcha", or "by golly!", I am seriously going to rip that person's endocrine system out. Yes, I have been watching too much The Soup.

Lyrics Of The Day
The rap from "Groove Is In The Heart", performed by Q-Tip:
Someone’s in this torso (yeah)
Hot! Got a deal you wanna know (wanna know)
De-liteful truly de-liteful (-liteful)
Makin’ it doin’ it 'specially at a show (show)
Feeling kinda high like a Hendrix haze (haze)
Music makes motion moves like a maze (maze)
All inside of me (side)
Heart especially (yeah)
Help of the rhythm where I wanna be (c’mon)
Flowin’ glowin’ with electric eyes (ha)
You dip to the dive baby you’ll realize (yeah)
Baby you’ll see the funky side of me
Baby you’ll see that rhythm is the key (hmm!)
Get get ready with it (with it)
Can’t can’t quit it (quit it)
Stomp on the street when I hear a funk beat (beat)
Playing Pied Piper
Follow what’s true
Baby just sing about the groove (sing it)

More Choice Complaining
I watched some quirky Lifetime movie a couple months ago and in it a teenager had been knocked up and one day in class, she asks her teacher her opinion on abortion. After the teacher states that she is pro-choice, the girl starts bitching about how is abortion fair to people who cannot have children and frankly, I don't see how that is people's problem. While we're at it, should we start forcing people who make a choice to not have children to have babies because there are people out there who can't have children? Fuck that. Yeah, it sucks to want children but not be able to have them, but any way you look at it, there are still going to be people who dislike abortion and will have babies that are given up for adoption. There are millions of babies in the world. Adopt one from another country! Using people who cannot have children as an excuse for banning abortion is a very poor excuse.
I like the ones who are really adamant against abortion that state allowing abortion is going to end humanity. Abortion has been legalized in the US for decades. Has humanity died out yet? No. The world population is enormous. Humanity will not die out due to abortion. Not when you have people like that Alaskan idiot or families like the Duggars or 99.9% of the patients my sister takes care of that don't know how to close their legs. What an absurd statement.
I was watching Jon Stewart one morning before I went out Christmas shopping and he had Mike Huckabee on and they were discussing gay marriage and Mike Huckabee mentioned about children being created through heterosexual marriages. I mean, obviously that is true, as it takes egg and sperm to do so (although, I thought at one point they managed to create an embryo with two eggs; I was either not paying enough attention or was unknowingly drugged), but it is still not a reason to create a ban on gay marriage because, once again, we will still have people who will get knocked up out-of-wedlock and have babies.
Ugh, it is just so absurd.
I have been seeing an awful lot of pictures of Madonna lately from performances and it got me thinking that how can people make fun of Lady Miss Kier for gaining weight? She looks a hell of a lot better looking than Madonna! Madonna is frightening looking. Women should not have veins like that. Yuck. Every time I see pictures of her, I want to scratch my eyeballs out.
I just finally got around to requesting Towa Tei on Myspace. It's kind of mean, but half of the time I forget he even was a part of the group. It always seemed like all Lady Miss Kier and Dmitry. And forget even remembering about Ani being in the group. What the hell ever happened to him anyway? Did he drop off of the face of the earth or something?
And since it just came on to remind me, I was watching Current earlier and they were discussing Bettie Page's death and they showed a clip of her dancing and I thought, shit, I know that dance, where in the hell have I seen it before? And then it finally came to me- Lady Miss Kier did the same dance in the video for "Runaway" at about 1:30 into the video! And since I brought it up:

Video Of The Day
"Boobs, Bombs, and Biker Bitches", a student film made in 1988 by a man named James Mona, with *fanfare* Lady Miss Kier. The video is marked as may not be suitable for minors and it does contain brief view of penis in the beginning, so probably NSFW:
Priceless.
