Video Of The Day
The time card narrations from Spongebob!
"Twelve o'clock meednight" is still the best.
Now I am going to go watch that 3 and a 1/2 minute video of all of Gary's meows.

Random Thoughts
My mother told me the other day that my sister told her that my brother-in-law was proud of himself for how the cookout turned out. I just looked at her and said, "I can't justify a response to that". How can you be proud of yourself when you hardly did anything??
I read an article on my favorite site the other day about a certain bad word a celebrity complained about and the poster of the article had a comment at the bottom that it is not his word to use. I'm sorry, when did it become anyone's word to use? Since when do words belong to people, or certain groups of people? What an asinine comment. Has this whole country gone insane?
Ugh, I want to be back down the shore so bad. And even with all of the destruction that has happened in the past 2 years from storms, and God knows what may come in the future, a small part of me would still love to permanently move down the shore one day.
We get booklets every so often from the company we went through to go to NYC a few years ago and they have so many different travel spots and every time I look through it, I get depressed. There are so many places I would love to see. I would love nothing more than to see are Maine (anytime) and pretty much anywhere in New England in the fall. I would love to see the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. I am missing not going to Myrtle Beach this year and after reading Southern Fried Sushi, I really am missing not going down south. Except for the whole backwards ass thinking of many residents, I love the South. Especially the food.
As for the rest of the world- Quebec. Montreal. New Brunswick (Canada). Nova Scotia. Most of Europe, especially Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany. And sometimes I would like to just pack up and leave for another country permanently. America is great, but there is just some shit I am really starting to get sick of. And nice to see the President creating a bigger divide in the country instead of focusing on more important issues.
And most of all, I want to go on a trip by myself. Not necessarily to those places, but I would just like to take a mini vacation by myself. A small part of me regrets not ever making my trip to Musikfest a solo vacation like I had intended. I just found my cancellation receipt for my reservation at the Sands Casino the other day and thought, damn, I should have went myself. Not that I necessarily minded going up there with my parents, or attending the actual concert with my mother (bonus: I made her a fan), and I think I would have been a little creeped out walking back to the hotel by myself. But it still would have been nice to do it on my own.
And speaking of MGMT.....oh boy. They posted some promo for the FYF Festival- okay, first off how is that pronounced? F-Y-F? Fiff? Fyf? And why do people doubt me when I tell them it is pronounced M-G-M-T? "Oh are you sure it's not management?". NO! I think I would know how to pronounce my favorite band's name! The only time I laughed at a question on how to pronounce their name was one time on Cracked.com, someone asked is it pronounced "migmeat". Now that made me laugh. But anyway, as usual, the comments turned into a battlefield over "Kids" and how if you like it, you're not a real fan and blah blah blah, mixed in with a handful of smart comments. These "I hate 'Kids' so that makes me a true fan" fans need to take a seat.
And this one kid, Tyler something, who posted 7500 comments on this particular FB post alone about his hatred of "Kids" and of people who like "Kids", he needs to take several seats. Who died and left Mr. Tyler here to make the rules of what constitutes a true MGMT fan vs. a faux one? Ooo, I hate a popular song because the band hates it as well! I'm such a fan! Sit your ass down.
And if MGMT really hates their own song, then they need to take several seats as well. People took to it, it made you big....get over it. Would you rather everyone hate you and you be a nobody?? Sometimes I really cannot comprehend the logic of bands like MGMT. I reread that Relix article one day last week and while it didn't come off as pretentious as when I first read it, there is still something about it that rubbed me the wrong way. I can't figure out what it is.
ONTD, surprisingly, seems to be the only place of normal MGMT fans. My only complaint is one of the fans, who has vast knowledge of them, was wrong on one thing- Andrew's last girlfriend was not Swedish. She was Irish. I have no idea where this fan got her info from. It was right there in her bio. And I know not everyone is up to code on last names and heritage, but her last name alone screamed I HAVE IRISH IN ME. Oh no. You do not deny a girl her Irish heritage.
Boy, I wonder if Of Monsters and Men and OMaM fans are obnoxious. I doubt it though, because what I see from fans, it's mostly just begging them to come to their area, or if you go on their Twitter, it's people begging them to follow them back. As for the band themselves, they seem to actually appreciate everything that comes their way. They also seem to love Philly, which right there automatically earns a million points in my book. Makes sense, since my local alt rock station apparently was the force behind their popularity in America. Awesome!
On another note, I saw a commercial with Kate Moss earlier. How is she still a model? Isn't she the equivalent of about 600 years old in the modeling world?

What The.....
Clearly I have not been paying much attention to the synopses of books lately. Usually when I check out books at the library, if they are not by someone whose books I have read in the past, I check out the cover (I know, I know....) and then brief over the summary and maybe check out a few pages, and then I decide whether I want to check it out. When I started reading The Stars Shine Bright, I had no clue whatsoever that it was going to turn preachy. And I still wouldn't have known it for the first 100 or so pages either (that is the religious-free zone) had I not read reviews of it.
I just started another book, Southern Fried Sushi, and I have come to find through reviews that this book is also Christian-themed. I reread the summary on the back of it and realized that I somehow missed the mention of God and "Christian fiction" on the back. And just like The Stars, it started off with no hint of religion. I am on page 185 and it has started getting quite religious, but so far it is tolerable. Now how much more religious it will get, I don't know. For different reasons, I can relate to how Shiloh feels when she gets to Virginia. The only thing I might complain about is the ridiculous Southern stereotypes. I don't doubt that they exist, but this book seems a little absurd. I could see maybe the deep, deep South, but this is Virginia. Also, how on earth does Shiloh, a Cornell graduate, not know what iced tea is, what sheep are, or what "amen" means? Come on.
And the constant mentions of Cracker Barrel are not helping my craving for it!
ETA 5:55PM: Okay, so I made it through. Overall, it was actually a cute book. It did get a lot more preachy, though. Look, I don't like to condemn people for their religious beliefs (unless it is being pushed on me or it's the type of religious beliefs right wing "religious do as I say don't do as I do" fanatics like to preach), but I found it really difficult to not roll my eyes at certain parts.
I just started to read my second to last library book (Picture Perfect by Janice Thompson).....only to discover it too can be classified Christian fiction. What the....DAFUQ was I on the last time I went to the library?! My.....uh....God. So far it is nothing like the other two books, though. And as someone with Irish running through half of my blood, I like the constant Irish talk.
ETA 7/31: Made it through Picture Perfect. It was not nearly as preachy as the other two books. Overall, it was a cute book. Just kind of sickeningly sweet. My teeth and pancreas were hurting after I finished it. Also....quick engagement much?

Picture Of The Day
Nice to know I'm not the only person from 1983 who can still be really immature:
Who is MGMT: Photo
Those arms....voof! Every time I look at this picture, all I hear is Patrick Stewart saying "look at me, I've got girl boobs!". Man, that is a great episode of Family Guy.
ETA 3:27PM: Today seems to be a day for boobs. For some reason, the idea of Andrew having a fascination with boobs disturbs me. But he is a 30 year-old straight male, so it really shouldn't. And the immature tween fan girl in me wants to make a snide comment about how can you like boobs but seem to like to motorboat rib cages, but I smacked her across the face. I recall one time in an interview, someone asked them what would they do if they were girls for a day and I am pretty sure their answer was the first thing they would do is touch their boobs.
And why shouldn't they? Your boobs can be a great source of amusement and can be a lot of fun to just touch. Except if you are due for your period and are one of those women who gets really sore breasts. But otherwise....yeah. Poke them, squeeze them (although my mother insists I will get breast cancer doing that), massage them, jump up and down and make 'em bounce, hold each one with a hand. Unless yours are too big to do that. Obviously some people can't do much about what size breasts they are given without resorting to surgery, but I would never, ever trade the size of mine for anything. The only thing I would like is for them to not be so...saggy.

I Want Food Now : theBERRY
For some inexplicable reason, every time I look at picture #24, I start laughing really hard. One of those laughs where your whole body is shaking, nothing is coming out of your mouth, and tears are coming out of your eyes. I don't know why I find it so funny.
On an unrelated note, I had an unresponsive Shockwave Flash plugin message earlier.

Random Thoughts
I just finally finished this insufferable book I started last week. It was The Stars Shine Bright by Sibella Giorello. It started off okay, then I read reviews of it and discovered that there were mentions of Christianity in it. Not long after I read that review, the religious crap started coming. Now despite no longer calling myself Christian, I have read books that discussed Christianity in the past and some were way too preachy, and then there were some that were actually pretty good. And at first the book wasn't too bad. Then I got to the section where Ashley was discussing having an abortion and Raleigh was being all judgmental about it. I almost stopped reading it then, but I decided to push on. Then I got to the paragraph about evolution and I was tempted to throw the book into the pool. Are you kidding me, Ms. Giorello? I really would have stopped reading the book right then and there if I wasn't dying to know who the suspect was.
I had to laugh at the part when Raleigh is in her apartment and someone talking about global warming comes on the television, so she decides to open up her refrigerator and freezer door out of spite. Ooo, you sure showed them, Raleigh, you badass!
Do you know what time I ended up going to sleep on Monday night? Sometime after 4AM. I was so upset over my tooth that I couldn't fall asleep. Then a thunderstorm rolled through for over 2 hours. And during that time, there were periods where I would start to doze off and a big crack of thunder would boom and scare the bejesus out of me. That was a nasty storm system that rolled through. It was one of those systems where it storms for a while, then gets quiet and you think it ended, and next thing you know, it's thundering and lightning again and then it starts pouring all over again. And I normally like to fall asleep to the rain, but the rain was pounding so hard on our roof that it was keeping me awake.
I had to get up early on Tuesday morning because we were heading down Wildhood for a couple days. It was a nice couple days. Except for a few cranky moments, cutie patootie nephew was very pleasant. I was honestly dreading sharing a room with an infant, but he slept well. Hell, I slept pretty well, which is a shocker. My only complaint is I also had a guest decide to come along on my mini-vacation. That bitch doesn't seem to want to stay home on any of my vacations anymore.
My other complaint is breakfast on Thursday. I don't really want to get into details, because the image is etched in my brain forever, but I'll say this- if you are a fat blonde bitch with 3 kids and probably your mother who ate at Jimbo's restaurant in Wildwood on Thurday, July 25th and had the nerve to leave the table with your child's vomit on a plate without telling anyone, and then have the nerve to leave a $2 tip- you are a horrible person.
I like that Wildhood enacted that ban on droopy pants. Pull your damn pants up! I see plenty of other clothing horrors that could use a banning down there as well. I can't decide which shore site has more revolting sights- Wildhood or Seaside. It's a tough call.
On the way home, I started to feel kind of blue and I was going to bring up a few things to my sister, but I never did. I have always had difficulty in the past talking out my feelings to people, but lately I have become completely incapable of doing so. I don't know why. I go to spill my feelings and it's like my brain just completely freezes. And it bothers me that I can't talk to people. Especially my own family. I shouldn't feel like I can't talk to my own family. But I do. Especially because my current method of dealing with my issues and problems (internalizing everything) is clearly not working and is just making everything worse.
And finally, good news! DownloaderHelper updated the other day and since then, I have no longer had any trouble with Shockwave Flash. I had a feeling the previous update was what was causing it, but I wasn't about to get rid of DH. Now I know it was. And no longer having trouble! Huzzah!

FML Part 5
I don't know what some higher being's idea of a funny joke is, but it's not funny anymore.
I just flossed my teeth and when I got to the last two molars on the bottom, something didn't look right. And then I realized a piece of the filling on the back molar chipped off. Again. I don't know how many goddamn times that spot has gotten refilled. I cried for over 15 minutes. Now I guess I have to make an appointment with the dentist. Because I didn't just pay hundreds of dollars in the past year to have cavities filled and a cracked tooth fixed. And I didn't just put out over $1,500 to have a new airbag put in my car. And because there aren't enough other things I need to be saving money for, like new tires, an eye exam, and I really need to have that pelvic ultrasound done.
I don't know what to do anymore. I need to go to bed because I have to be up early. I am so aggravated and upset, I don't know how I am ever going to get to sleep.

Random Thoughts
Saturday was that cookout my sister and brother-in-law were throwing. I was surprised they actually went through with it. And do you know how it worked out? My mother did a lot of the work, and my sister's mother-in-law helped her put out the desserts. My sister did a lot of the work. My brother-in-law's friend did most of the grilling. My mother, sister, grandmother, my father, and I did the cleaning up while my brother-in-law sat on his fat ass with his friend. I was so livid when I left I wanted to punch something. Or someone. I'll give you one guess who.
Do you remember when I mentioned how he said to me "do you ever wish you could say things out loud?". Last night was one of those moments. And thank god I have some degree of control over my temper, because I really would have liked to have lost mine last night and tore him another asshole. And I would have liked to have torn my sister another asshole for allowing him get away with it. But do you know what would have happened? I would have gotten in trouble, even though everyone would know I was right. I would have gotten in trouble for starting trouble.
During that time, the baby had been put up in his crib to go to sleep. He didn't want to, so he wailed his head off. I went up with him at one point and just leaned over the crib and rubbed his shoulder and arm. That clearly wasn't going to work, because all he kept doing was looking up at me and doing his silly face where he sticks his tongue out and smiles. I always laugh when he makes that face. But I just looked down at him and thought, god he is such a sweetie, and I thought about my dream the night before, and I started to cry. I don't know, surprisingly my nephew seems to really like me now. Heaven knows what he'll be like when he is older.
Friday night I had one of the most disturbing dreams in my life. It was the first time I ever dreamt I actually attempted suicide. I don't know why I tried to do it. All I know is I grabbed a rather large handful of pills, swallowed them all, and then I laid on my bed and kept thinking, am I doing the right thing or am I making a huge mistake? I never did get an answer. I woke up and the first thing I thought was Jesus fucking Christ what was that all about? I don't know why I did it in my dream, but I could easily list several reasons why I would like to do it in real life.
Friday night, my FWA posted some whiny ass Facebook status about my former boss. I swear, I wish I could have sent my fist through the monitor and have it come out hers and hit her square in the face. Fucking ungrateful piece of white trash. I would do anything to have my job back! And yeah, my former boss was a whack job, but clearly I was doing something right, considering she was rarely on my ass about stuff. I don't know what my former coworkers think. Do they honestly believe they can come late into work, wear inappropriate clothing, carry on half hour plus conversations.....and not get reprimanded for it? I don't get it. Did I miss something?
And speaking of missing something, what am I missing in Futurama since it started airing on Comedy Central? Every forum or webpage I go on that mentions it being cancelled, everyone is so sad about it. I am not the least bit sad about it. Except for a few I didn't mind, I hate the new episodes. I don't think the humor in the show is like it used to be. Sure, Bender has always loved his floozies, but now he is like this sex-obsessed maniac. And that is all he seems to do. And the humor just felt cheap and too much pop-culture references. When I started watching it, I felt like the humor was different compared to other cartoons I watch. Now it just seems on par with them. I don't think I could ever get enough of the older episodes, but these new ones.....you can have 'em.
