The Bitch, Please Of The Day

I just saw some commercial for the second time pushing for the repeal of Obamacare. Some lady who claims to be Canadian and had some horrible brain disease says she came to America to have life-saving surgery because if she had stayed in Canada, she would have died. But enlighten me, Shona- what did your medical bills look like after this life-saving surgery? I noticed that was not mentioned in the commercial. And I doubt it was done for free.

I am tired of hearing about healthcare. Obamacare has its flaws, but something needs to be done about the current healthcare state. I like when people complain that once it goes into effect, their employers will get rid of their healthcare plan. I don't know what planet these people live on. What makes you think they wouldn't do that now? What makes you think that whoever is in charge of company healthcare won't wake up one morning and decide, hm, I think I need to get my employees a different healthcare plan this one is costing me too much money? Oh. It can. Look at what happened at my old job. They lay off a bunch of people and decide to get a more expensive (but just as shitty) healthcare plan. My COBRA rates went through the roof.

I am also beyond tired of oh when you are uninsured taxpayers foot the bill. Yeah. For a select few. If I had a heart attack within the next 5 minutes and was rushed to the hospital, I would be the only one footing my bill. I have a cousin who is poor as shit, had a heart issue and was hospitalized, and is paying the bill. Not taxpayers. Her. Oh but I am sure her loser ass daughter who got knocked up with another loser had all her bills paid for by the taxpayers.

All this healthcare talk reminds me of a temp assignment I had a couple summers ago when I argued with the boss that healthcare companies can still deny things for preexisting conditions. He said no they cannot. If he remembered who I was, I would find the letter from my previous insurer denying my gastroenterologist visit due to preexisting conditions. Conditions that did not even have a confirmed diagnosis. I would find the letter, copy it, attach a note with "cannot deny due to preexisting conditions?" and then attach a photo of the O RLY owl at the bottom.

Random Thoughts

Wow, I cannot believe it will already be one week since Sandy hit. I spent all last weekend with my stomach in knots over that bitch hitting. And I hate when my family is like, see, you got yourself all worked up for nothing. I am well aware of that. But it is not going to stop me from worrying.

It was a long ass day today. Nice, but long. It was Apple Festival up at Peddler's Village, and as you know by now, I always go to that. It was a nice chilly day for once. A little too windy, but whatever. It still ended up being a nice day. I am just hurting from all of the walking, since I didn't exactly wear the best of shoes. And I am also hurting internally from all of the bad food. Going to Friday's for dinner didn't help. That was an adventure in itself. First, the waitress spilled our drinks all over the table and floor. My order got screwed up. How you screw up a bacon cheeseburger is beyond me, especially when the waitress had the order written down correctly. The manager ended up deducting our drinks and then giving us 40% off of the bill. I felt bad for the waitress. I would have cried if that happened to me. And then died of embarrassment. She still ended up getting a 20% tip on the original cost of the bill, though.

All of this Christmas stuff in stores is depressing me big time. Everywhere I go, it's out. Music Choice is playing Christmas music already on the Sounds of the Season station. I am not looking forward to the holidays. Or my birthday. God help me next year when I turn 30. And go figure- I am complaining about Christmas while listening to "What Child Is This?" by the Moody Blues.

Sunday is that Italian shin-ding that I have been going to for the past 2 years. I am honestly not really looking forward to it. My stomach is not in the mood for another day of bad eating. Bad eating Saturday, we went to Cracker Barrel on Wednesday, now this. Ugh.

There is something I have been expecting to eventually happen in the future and recently I started to feel that I would be okay with it if it happens. But I saw something last night that made me realize that I still would not be okay. It would still hurt pretty bad. And it is disappointing to realize that. And disappointing that I would let it bother me. It's my fault for having low self-esteem. And also for putting people too high up on a pedestal. I wish I would stop doing that, especially since I am so quick to knock them off.

The Awesome Of The Day

ETA 11/11: Went to Dairy Queen last night, although my original intention was to get the pumpkin pie Blizzard since THE DQ WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK PAGE ARE STILL ADVERTISING IT, and had this. IT WAS AWESOME.

The Bitch, Please Of The Day

Marissa Jaret Winokur Weight Loss: Actress Shows Off New Slim Figure (PHOTOS)

There is a video somewhere on AOL where she says she is a size 2. Hahahahahaha! Hilarious!

No fucking way is she a size 2. I've seen plenty of pictures of models who are a size 4 and they are a hell of a lot skinnier than she is. Hell, I think I am skinnier than her. And I am no size 2. I am not even a 4. Although I did buy my first pair of size 6 jeans the other day. But they run big, so it's not really anything to brag about. But that's not the point here. The point is, people need to stop lying about their damn size. Everyone is all love your body blah blah blah while standing there at about 150 pounds and saying they are a size 4. No.

And for no reason at all, I am going to rant about past comments my brother-on-law has made of MGMT. Namely, Andrew's clothing. Why he feels the need to make smart remarks about how Andrew dresses while completely ignoring his musical talent, I don't know, but it pisses me the hell off. I mean, obviously any criticism of MGMT, even minor, is not going to bode well with me. Talking smack about them in front of me is about as dangerous as talking smack of One Direction in front of an insane Directioner. But too much focus on aesthetics is what is wrong with music today. And I'd think someone who is a little bit of a musician and is nothing to look at himself would realize that. But yes, let's focus on Andrew's black jacket with white polka dots while completely ignoring that the man is incredibly talented.

Video Of The Day

It's already been given the honor, but whatever; I personally thought this video was more horrifying than "Kids":

When they sang this at Musikfest, Andrew was very mellow at the end. It was weird.

The WTF Of The Day

"Kids" is gruesome? Really, Youtube?

You want gruesome, Youtube, list some Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne videos.

Alright, I don't know what is going on with my body. I don't particularly want to discuss this, but this inter-cycle bleeding is starting to really worry me. Every month, probably for the past three or four months, right around ovulation time, I start bleeding. Not heavy, but not particularly light. I don't know what possible hormone could be out of whack, or what could be going on. My face has been breaking out nonstop. I want to cry. I need to go to the doctor, but thanks to my stupid mouth, I need to keep putting money out to get unnecessary cavities filled.

And do you know what this is bringing back? The fear of Addison's disease. I swear to God, I am never going to get rid of that fear.

I just viewed more pictures of the destruction left by Sandy and I cannot believe what Seaside looks like now. Much of the boardwalk is gone. This extended pier that came out over the water that I adored going out on is gone. Where I once looked down and saw a fever of stingrays (yes, I googled that) swim by. All of the Jersey shores are in such bad shape. My heart is broken. I always talk about how much I dislike Jersey, but the shore points are one of the main reasons I would never leave. And while I have spent many years thinking how I would love to move down the shore someday, after Irene and Sandy, I am reconsidering that.

I haven't seen many pictures of my true shore love, Wildwood, but I think the boardwalk is okay down there. Areas are pretty flooded, though.

And that fire in Breezy Point. Mother of God. That area looks post-apocalyptic. That was one of the most haunting set of pictures I have ever saw. And this may sound really stupid, as I don't know the whole situation, but how did so much burn when there was so much damn rain?

I see some of the pictures of rescuers and I think how I'd like to do that, but then I see the pictures of the devastated people and I change my mind. I would never be strong enough to do so. If someone broke down crying in front of me, I'd break down and cry with them. I'd be that person on the news holding the other person while sitting on the ground wailing our heads off.

I was looking at the pictures when "Siberian Breaks" came on and considering many of the pictures are of the ocean, it made it kind of eerie.

Well.....that was something. The winds sound like they have finally started to decrease some and I don't think it is raining anymore. Still not ready to let my guard down, though.

Boy, did the shore points get slammed. Especially AC. AC is flooded to all holy hell and the boardwalk is pretty much gone. I have been saying for the past couple years that I have been wanting to go to the AC boardwalk, since I haven't been on the boardwalk in probably close to a decade. I have been to AC a few times during those past couple years, but I was always at the Borgata and had no time to go to the boardwalk. And it was at night and if you know AC, you don't want to be on that boardwalk at night. At least I don't, after the last time I was there at night. Now I won't get to see it ever. Or at least until it is rebuilt. Hopefully.

I have been listening to the news most of the day and it just amazes me the stupidity of people. One lady was saying she wasn't leaving because Irene was over-hyped and she wasn't wasting money leaving again. I wish I could remember what are she lived in, because if it was one of the big time affected areas, I hope she is eating her words. If she's alive. Dumb ass. And then I saw video or picture after video or picture of people actually surfing in the ocean. And aside from the overflow of hot men in wetsuits (JFC that combination was a gift from God), are these people nuts? What the hell? And then everyone is sad at the casualties of the storms and I have to wonder how many of them could have been prevented if people were not so arrogant and stupid.

I just cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am for the colder weather being around to keep the tornado threat down. I think I read on Sunday that if it were not, the tornado threat would have been huge. That gave me the chills when I read that. Irene was enough for me.

In times of particularly bad anxiety, it almost amazes me how powerful my imagination can be, of what I can imagine happening. If I sat and listed everything that has been running through my head since Friday of what could happen, it's astonishing just how far I can push my imagination.

Now....I should try to go get a decent night's sleep.

GTFO Sandy IV

Ugh, it figures that a migraine seems to be coming on. I hate migraines. Sleep is generally the only thing that can take them away for me. Or vomiting. And I really do not want to have to resort to the latter. But lord knows how the former will come.

It's not raining right now, but the wind is starting to pick up some. And I can feel more knots developing in my stomach. I am trying to listen to music and calm down, but it's not working. I'm nervous about the upcoming weather, I am worried about my sister having to drive to work in the morning.....I just want the next few days over so bad.

Son of a bitch.....TWC just announced that Sandy did turn left. Damn! I knew it was unlikely, but I kept hoping that she would decide to just go right.

1:06PM: My sister made it to work okay (hubby took her). Now we all just have to worry whether or not she will be coming home, if she can, and/or if the hospital makes her stay (her department called and told her to bring a bag last night). Raining, windy, typical pre-hurricane/tropical storm/post tropical/hybrid/whatever you want to call it conditions, blah blah blah. It's chilly as shit, too. According to TWC, Sandy is starting to speed up. Not sure if that is good news or bad news. Well, it's bad in the sense that she will be here sooner. But what that means in the sense of how it affects winds and maintaining the stability of the storm, I don't know. Those two are my biggest concerns. TWC is still saying tornado threat is low due to cold air surrounding the core. I'm still not letting my guard down on it, though. It also looks like Sandy could possibly hitting even further down the coast than yesterday (from 6ABC):

I saw pictures of Wildwood flooded yesterday, and the news has been down different areas and....just holy shit at the waves. All of our shore points! And we were just starting to get really gorgeous, vibrant foliage in my town and now it will probably all be gone. I'm sad now!

And not a fan of Christie, but man does he make some great speeches during these events.

3:32PM: Mama mia, she's not even on the coast yet! I think she is pretty close to Cape May, but not quite there yet. It's definitely gotten windier in my parts. Last high wind gust was 39MPH. The sound is making me nervous.

I'm reading an article over on Accuweather.com about no hurricane watches/warnings being issued, and people are complaining that it is stupid not to issue any. It isn't really stupid. If you pay attention to the news, not necessarily as obsessively as I have, it shouldn't take a watch or a warning for people to realize how serious this could be.

4:47PM: Damn, the pressure from this storm is really bothering the hell out of my ears.

5:03PM: THIS IS YOUR FAULT, MTV (photo courtesy of Twitter user @MatthewTaylorr):

I am pretty sure that is the Beach Bar, which is right across the way from the Beachcomber. Jesus. I just ate at that place on Labor Day weekend.

And you know what? Everyone and their damn sex posts on Facebook is getting on my last nerve. Because everyone that is posting them is gross, e.g. my FWA. And speaking of her, she posted a picture on Facebook yesterday of what I think is her and her brother, and her brother reminds me of Andrew. I can't stand it. I can't comprehend how someone who resembles such a gorgeous man can be related to her. She's nasty. Yuck.

6:36PM: Sandy made her entrance a little before 6PM, according to Accuweather. I think she landed between Avalon and Sea Isle City. These videos and pictures of the shore points underwater and with structural damage are breaking my heart!

7:23PM: Winds gusting to 68MPH. Yikes.

8:14PM: My sister called a few minutes ago. Home safe and sound.
