Random Thoughts

Ugh, I am having a really bad flare-up with my digestive system the past few days. I don't know if it's due to the abrupt change in my schedule or what, but I just can't even deal with it. I am extremely bloated, I have heartburn out the wazoo, and I have pains all across my back. It astonishes me how horrible I can feel just from not going to the bathroom for 3 days.

And speaking of not wanting to deal, drama is already starting in work. It's so damn annoying. Already I am having to hear complaints of favoritism, etc. I always wondered back when I worked there before if anyone ever complained about me behind my back about being shown favortism. I was never outwardly shown favoritism, but if I requested PTO or anything, I was never given a hard time like my coworkers. But do you know why that is? Because I came in on time, I left when I was supposed to, I rarely called out, I took exactly a half hour lunch like I was supposed to, I didn't socialize all of the damn time, and I did my job without bitching and moaning. And with the exception of wearing flip flops in the summer and one time during a snow storm I came in wearing yoga pants and a fleece, I always abided by the dress code. My manager told me she has gotten strict about it and even made a dig at my FWA about how she dresses. Yet she comes in the next day wearing fucking velour sweatpants and an Eagles hoodie. So much for enforcing it.

I am going to take a guess that it has something to do with being pregnant, although what her excuse was before for dressing like ghetto trash, I don't know. Because there aren't plenty of dressy maternity clothes out there, but I guess when you don't have money but are so desperate to shit out a kid, then your choice of clothing is drastically limited. It still does not excuse it.

So much has changed and yet nothing has changed in that place. And Friday was so hectic, since someone had the bright idea to bring me in during the end of the month when budgets need to be met and our superiors are at their most sadistic-iest, I ended up doing my old work. I can't even tell you how happy that made me. I was happier than a pig in shit. I honestly loved my old job. I could not have come in at a worst possible time, when shit is backed-up due to staff shortages, which in turn is going to put a lot of pressure on me to learn as quickly as possible, which is going to stress me out and then I will start worrying that I am going to make mistakes and get fired, which will stress me out even more. I have to already start dreading opening my email every day that I am going to have an email reaming me out for some dumb mistake. I have to worry about our superiors nitpicking some dumb shit. I already feel like saying fuck this.

I made coffee in work on Friday and when I picked up the pot, I was appalled. I swear, that thing looked like it hadn't been washed since I worked there. It was disgusting. I was the only one who ever washed the pot and filter when I used to make coffee. Everyone else would just rinse it out and make new coffee. Why do people have issues with washing coffee pots?

Boy, I am not looking forward to this week. It's my first full week of work in almost 2 years. I was a little surprised at how well I took going back to work on Wednesday, though. I thought I would be a lot more upset about it. I just wish my digestive system would straighten itself out. I know I said before that no matter what I am going to stick with the Spring Valley acidophilus pills, but I am considering trying those Walgreen's brand probiotics again. I never reacted badly to them. At least not like those other ones. Those were awful. Just too many different strains, I guess.

I don't know why I was thinking about this, but I was on Chili's Facebook page one day and some lady was complaining that she was in a Chili's with her autistic child and the loud music was bothering the kid and the employees would not lower the volume. Let me get this straight- she takes her child who has trouble with loud noises to a bar and grill, places known to be loud, and expects the establishment to cater to her? I'm sorry, what? I don't know about any other Chili's, but the one I go to is extremely noisy. Get the fuck out of here, lady. This would be like me going to the Electric Factory in December and bitching that the concert was too loud and too crowded. Which let's be real, I probably will. But I still know what I am getting into. If you know your kid has difficulty with loud noises, why in the hell would you take him to a bar and grill?

Ugh, stupid people. And dammit, now I really want Chili's.

Random Thoughts

Back when I found out I was losing my job, I was completely distraught over it. I didn't just feel like I was knocked off my feet. I felt like someone delivered a round-house kick to the back of my knees. But when October 14th rolled around, I remember feeling just the teeniest bit of relief to be getting out of there. I have been reminded why I felt that relief. I just....I don't know how I am going to deal with this. So much has changed, so much stupid time-wasting stuff has to be done. I honestly don't know where people get their business degrees from, or if our superiors are just sadistic assholes. I think it may be a mixture of both. I mean, if you are a supervisor and cannot even spell the word crooked, that is sad. I have a hard time working under someone who previously sent an email to my manager hollering because I was scanning things "croquette".

Good god, I will never forget the day I received that email. I laughed so hard, I almost choked. My manager came back and asked me if I read it. I hadn't, so I opened it while she was at my desk and as soon as I saw the croquette, I said "Croquette?! Does she mean CROOKED?". Once my manager got it, she was hysterical. And with as snippy as the email was, you would think I had been scanning things really badly. The "croquetteness" was so slight, you could barely see it. Maybe if they had given me a better scanner, it wouldn't have been a problem. Besides, it was better than anything the morons she normally supervised did. Now that was some awful scanning!

The job itself isn't terribly difficult, but it's far from easy. I did my first report today and I did a lot better on it than I thought. My manager said she normally has to correct a lot more than what she had to do on mine. She told me I need to stop underestimating myself. Which I do. But what can I say? I feel stupid and I lack any kind of confidence. Half of the time, I feel so stupid and unable to comprehend thing, I feel like I have some kind of brain damage. I feel like all of those psychiatric drugs, especially that evil son of a bitch Effexor, destroyed my brain. I finished 2 reports before I left. We're going to go over them tomorrow and I dread to see how that may turn out.

I almost want to wish a meteor or some other catastrophe would hit the earth just to get me out of this job, but it has to hold off until after December 3rd because guess who got tickets to see MGMT at the Electric Factory?! MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

God, I hope I don't regret this. Don't misunderstand me, I would never regret seeing MGMT. Hell, if it were up to me, I would take my stanning to embarrassing levels by becoming a hardcore groupie and following them to every city they are playing in. I am not even kidding. I just dread what the audience is going to be like. I am really hoping and praying that a huge majority of the people are under 21 so the bar area upstairs will not be as crowded.

The Awesome? Of The Day

Guess who was officially offered a job today? This girl!

And to think how much I could have enjoyed being out of work had I known I would end up back there again instead of being a mental wreck. FML.

Also, I have not received one like or comment on my announcement from any of my former coworkers. To be fair, maybe none of them have been on yet. But if they have....

7:04PM: Only one former coworker (former former coworker?) has said anything to me. My FWA and another person who considered me a friend have both been on several times and nothing. I mentioned the other day to my sister that I was a little disappointed by how everyone acted when I was there the other day and she said "don't let it bother you; if you get the job, just go in and do your job and don't even bother with anyone if you don't have to". That is essentially what I tried to do when I worked there before, but I still managed to get dragged into things I didn't want to.

Video Of The Day

I was a never a real big fan of Aaliyah, but I did think she was talented (and a hell of a dancer) and I did like a few songs by her. This was one of my favorites:

Random Thoughts

My "interview" the other day went well. I had to take a couple short quizzes, which my former manager told me to not over think them. I ended up doing extremely well on them, as well as the typing test. I also had to do a brief performance of what I would be doing and I am assuming I did well on that as well. My FM told me that she was going to highly recommend me for the job and as far as she is concerned, I have the job. So hopefully something will come of this.

However, maybe I am just uber sensitive this week due to my impending period, but I left feeling really shitty  from how my former coworkers acted towards me. My FWA and I talked for a while and yes, I finally had no choice but to congratulate her on her pregnancy. But everyone else was just.....well, not friendly. I felt and still feel worthless from it. And last night when I was trying to unsuccessfully fall asleep, I thought about how my FM raves about me and my work ethics.....and then I thought about the time she spent over a half hour bad-mouthing me with the racist bitch. And all I could think is, how can I believe anything that comes out of her mouth?

Lately I have been having really bad anxiety about doing anything for fear of something bad happening. I don't want to ask anyone to do anything with me or if someone asks me if I need something while they are out I don't want to ask them to do something for me because I am worried something bad will happen and I will never be able to forgive myself. I have all of these horrible images running through my head constantly. I don't necessarily want to end my life, but I would like to rip my brain out of my head and splatter it all over the walls. Getting real tired of its shit. Too bad a mind can't be reinstalled like computer software.

So while I am blindly enjoying the music, I am seeing mixed reviews about the new MGMT album. Some people absolutely love it and others loathe it. I have read some pretty harsh reviews of it, including a particularly harsh one that not only seemed to have a vendetta for the band, but also called Andrew an asshole (hdu). My only real complaint about the album is I wish the vocals on many of the songs were a little louder. I have a difficult time hearing them. As for the songs:

"Alien Days"- I think 270+ play counts of it since I magically obtained a copy of it two days after Record Store Day speaks volumes of what I think of it

"Cool Song no. 2"- like the song; that video, though....

"Mystery Disease"- like it

"Introspection"- one of my favorites; they pull off covers well

"Your Life is a Lie"- love it

"A Good Sadness"- one of my favorites

"Astro-Mancy"- no opinion yet. I remember reading somewhere that it was inspired after Andrew saw the Northern Lights in Iceland. I can see that, although my favorite thing to listen to when looking at pictures of the Northern Lights (since I have sadly never seen them in person) is "Siberian Breaks".

"I Love You Too, Death"- this was one I thought I would really like, since I have an overt fixation with death, but so far I don't particularly care for it

"Plenty of Girls in the Sea"- not a particular fan of this one, either. That Jimmy Fallon performance, though.....LOL

"An Orphan of Fortune"- will likely become a favorite

Bits and parts of this album remind me a little of Depeche Mode's Playing the Angel.

And so, as you know, they are coming to Philly in December and I am really hoping I can go. What better birthday gift? I said something to my sister about it the night I found out and she didn't say anything about going, although she did send me a message telling me her husband asked if he has to go. Um, no. And I wouldn't really want him there trying to control everything, anyway. I don't know if that meant she would go or what. I said something to my mother about it the next day and she said "I guess I will have to go with you?" and then something about my birthday.

I wish I knew what was going on, though, because I want to try to get tickets ASAP. Although I am incredibly confused about ticket purchasing. The pre-sale started Friday and I don't know if only fan club members can order them or I could order them. But I need to know how many to get and I want to know if I don't get a choice in choosing where to sit. And if I wait until the day the Electric Factory starts, then will I get to choose my seats? That was the nice thing about Musikfest, getting to choose where to sit. They are the only music concert tickets I have ever purchased, so I don't know much on how it works. Argh, I am so goddamn confused!

10:11PM: Um.....I do not believe there are seats at the Electric Factory. That explains why there is no choice of seats on the website. Fuck. I really want to see them again, but whether I can deal with that kind of atmosphere is a horse of another color.

Quote Of The Day

This part has been ringing in my head for days and the episode ("Family Affair") happened to be on tonight!
Klaus: And if you've never been to a concert with me you're in for a treat. I YELL CONSTANTLY!

5 Women Explain Why They Chose Not to Have Kids

I'm sorry, is it not 2013? Why do women need to explain why they choose to be child-free?
