Song Of The Day

Going old school....man, I loved listening to them in elementary school (yes, elementary):

When I was younger, I listened to a lot of alternative music. In fifth grade, I was obsessed with Green Day and the Offspring (considered alt at the time, not so sure what they'd be considered now) and my claim to fame was constantly wearing that Dookie t-shirt (and yes it was clean every time I wore it, which was at least once a week). I was heart-broken when I had to get rid of that shirt. But I briefly got into them again when American Idiot came out and I found a t-shirt on eBay and bought it. I still have it, too. Anyway, I find that I will go through periods where I get into different genres, but ultimately I always come back to alternative.

Anyway, I am going to go listen to "Siberian Breaks", because I have not listened to it since Monday. My play count for it right now is 654 plays. It's a shame I had to reinstall Windows last fall, because I lost the previous play count total. I posted the Youtube video of it on Facebook in June 2012 and I had mentioned that I had listened to it 206 times. I added it to my iTunes library on 4/18/12, which means I listened to it on average 100 times per month, so do the math by October (over 600 times?).  So surely I've had to have listened to it at least well over 1,000 times by now. Not to mention hearing it live twice (IT COUNTS DAMMIT) and listening to it off of the CD. So basically I have spent over a week's time listening to it. God, my life is sad.

The WTF Of The Day

So I get this email from the NJ Department of Labor today:
Tax Form 1099-G "Certain Government Payments" will no longer be mailed to recipients of Unemployment Insurance benefits in New Jersey. You will be able to obtain this information by using our online 1099-G Income Tax Statement application.

Form 1099-G reports the total taxable unemployment compensation paid to any individual who received New Jersey Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits for a specific calendar year.

The online 1099-G application will be available in late January 2014 and it will provide you with your New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) 1099-G Income Tax Statement, which you can View and Print through the online application. LWD will advise you when this information becomes available.

To use the online 1099-G application, go to the Unemployment Insurance page of the LWD website at www.njuifile.net . Once you have signed into the application, click on View/Print 1099-G Tax Statement and then simply click continue after reviewing the instructions.

You will need your online user ID, password and Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access your tax information. Before trying to access your tax information, you must have a PIN. If you cannot remember your PIN or are having difficulty with it, please contact one of our Regional Call Centers for assistance.
Are you kidding me, unemployment? Like I am going to remember my user ID and password? I haven't been on unemployment in over a half a year!

Also....folks, it's really fucking cold out.

Song Of The Day

This song has been playing nonstop in my head for the past few days:

Random Thoughts

Ugh, I am not looking forward to my first full week of work since the week before Thanksgiving.

I miss when I used to have my own space at work. I hate having to be in the middle with everyone else and  all their goddamn talking. I am still so annoyed with my manager on New Years Eve. Your employees are standing around talking, you know it is annoying another employee who is the only one actually freaking working, and you don't even bother saying anything? Even if it wasn't annoying me, it was still ridiculous to allow them to stand there and talk for so long (45+ minutes). Not to mention listening to my FWA go on and on about her white trash drama was beyond insufferable. My manager has no fucking backbone.

It's like on Thursday she told the girl who is always doing something other than working to go ask the doctor if the charts were ready for me to take care of the forms and she says "okay" and then goes back to playing on the internet and talking to my FWA's friend. Then goes in the room with the doctor. Comes back out after the exam. Still no charts, so I go in and ask my manager if they're ready, she asks me where the girl is, I say she is in the center at her desk. And then my manager basically just told me I need to just wait for them. No asking her if she asked if they're ready, nothing. Maybe I don't want to wait. Maybe I would like to get them done ASAP.

My manager is so desperate to hold onto this girl and I don't understand why. Maybe she works okay as an MA, but outside of that, she's fucking lazy as shit. If she's not talking, she's playing on her phone. If she's not playing on her phone or talking, she's on the internet. If she's not on the internet, playing on her phone, or talking, she's outside smoking.

I don't remember if I have discussed this story or not and I am not about to weed through any old entries to see if I have, so I am just going to tell it anyway. Because this girl plays around so much, my FWA and another worker will do one of her jobs when it starts to get backed up (and now I have been taught to do it so guess who will probably be picking up her slack one day?). And one day when they finally said something to my manager, she basically told them she doesn't care who does it as long as the job gets done. No. Sorry. That doesn't fly. If someone is given a certain job assignment, then they need to do it. It's one thing if she has an overabundance of work or something, but she doesn't. She just plays around too damn much.

Last week, I had her job of getting rid of old medical charts and I came across a rough draft summary that my FWA had typed and in part of it, she had used the wrong last name (she had typed the doctor's last name instead of the patient's; say the doctor's name was Dr. X and the patient's name was Mr. Y; she had typed Mr. X was examined by Dr. X) and our doctor the summary was for had even circled it, yet when I brought up the final report, it still had Mr. X. Like how does someone even let that slip? The doctor did not. But everyone else did. And to think I am so overly concerned about my summarizing all of the time. Maybe I should stop.

LOL. We know that ain't gonna happen. That would require pulling the giant stick out of my ass.

My FWA told me one day that she has never had any of her summaries complained about. She is so full of shit. I remember her telling me back when I worked there before about a complaint here and there. And then she told me last week that when she had first started, she used to do something one way and then one of our doctors told her not to do it that way. I swear to God that girl is a pathological liar. I don't believe anything that comes out of her mouth anymore.

We got hit with a lot of snow on Thursday night. Thank god on Friday we [SHOCKER] had a snow day. It was bad out there. Even Saturday night when we went out to dinner for my birthday, the roads were still pretty bad. That was unacceptable. It's not like Saturday was a terrible day (it was sunny, albeit cold) that the trucks couldn't have been out salting and cleaning up the roads.

This weather sucks. Today it's in the 40's, but come tomorrow night, it's supposed to get brutally cold. Tuesday the high is going to be 10 degrees Fahrenheit. I know that is nothing compared to Canada and such, but when you're chronically cold, it's pretty brutal.

I so knew once I went back to work, the weather would get snowy and cold and miserable. Of course the two winters I was unemployed it was mild.

Comment Of The Day

I just started reading the Jaine Austen series by Laura Levine and I'm kind of iffy on it. I'm reading Last Writes. It's not terrible; it's a pretty short and quick to read through. But some parts are a bit annoying (how many more times did she have to put "okay I didn't really say that"?) so I decided to check out Amazon reviews. And I came across this response to a review:

Amazon.com: adnaper "adnaper"'s review of Last Writes (Jaine Austen Mysteries)

Finally someone called out another on prasing Joanne Fluke. I see a lot of reviews for mysteries that are constantly comparing them to the Hannah Swenson series and how nothing is as great and blah blah blah and I'm like what in the hell am I missing? The Hannah Swenson series is far from great. I don't understand why so many people put it on such a high pedestal. It's not that the writing is terrible (it isn't, for the most part). It's just Hannah and every character is so goddamn insufferable it just completely destroys any of the good side of it.

Song Of The Day

A while back, my parents had an NCIS marathon on and at the end of an episode, there was this beautiful song playing at the end. I never got a chance to write down the lyrics or episode name to look it up. On New Year's Day, there was a marathon on again and that episode was on, so I wrote down the episode name and Googled it later on. Much to my surprise, I found out the song was by the Boxer Rebellion. It's such a beautiful and sad song, so I try to limit my listening to it because having such severe depression makes listening to sad songs extremely difficult:

Why is this band not bigger?

IT'S MIND SHAMING TIME EVERYBODY

I am about to post something that will probably embarrass the hell out of me and succeed in making me look like a complete ass (well, bigger than usual). But before I start, I have to complain about work. My coworkers recently found a new radio station to listen to. And all day long today, they kept going on and on about how great the station was and how they play such a big variety. I don't know what they were listening to, because I did not hear any variety! I heard the same damn shit over and over again. I heard that damn Avicii "Wake Me Up" song 5 fucking times and that annoying Sara Barawhatever "Brave" song 4 times in an 8 hour period. Hand to God, no exaggeration. And I had just started to like that new OneRepublic song "Counting Stars" over the weekend. I'm annoyed with it already. 106.1 the Mix, you are the worst.

Oh, and apparently everyone I work with ermagherd just lurves Katy Perry! UGH!!

Anyway, last night I saw something on one of the MGMT Tumblr pages I stal- check out that was a prime example of why children should not be let near the internet. Apparently someone decided to take something written in an interview with Andrew's girlfriend in a foreign magazine and start some rumor that they were engaged. It ended up just being a translation mistake and they are not (confirmed by Andrew's old man). The interview came out a while ago; why would someone decide to make an issue out of it now? I'll tell you why- because kids are stupid.

I can't deny it- I felt a slight drop in my stomach when I first read it. But I have to say I was more "meh" on it than I thought I would be, so that is a good sign. Look, I know I have no chance with him. I don't know why I would get upset if it happened. And everyone was all excited on this particular page and I'm like, why can't I feel happy if it were true? They're cute together (just hope he respects her). It bugs me that I would get upset. I'm too old for this shit.

I don't understand my feelings with this at all. I've gone over this over and over and over and over again- I know I am being irrational yet I still feel them. WHY IS THAT? It bugs the ever loving shit out of me. This is why I need therapy, folks.

Also, I mentioned a few times before about people hating on his girlfriend, but apparently there are Andrew fans out there that seem to worship her, too. Sure she is cute and seems like a nice girl, but still. It's kind of creepy. It's like worship by proxy. They wouldn't give a shit about the poor girl if she wasn't dating Andrew. Wonder if these kids worshiped his last girlfriend, too. Can just imagine what happened after he broke up with her right before going on stage to perform. Then it was probably adios, senorita, we hate you now. They'd probably all do the same thing if he ever breaks up with the current one, which if he is anything like his fellow modelizer assholes (e.g Leonardo DiCraprio, Adam Levine), it could very well happen eventually. I hope he isn't like those two, but then again I didn't think he was the type to be shallow enough to only date models and look how wrong I was in that.

Ugh, that break-up story still doesn't sit right with me.

On another note, I can't fucking deal with this premature menopause fear anymore. I'm seriously contemplating asking for my hormone levels to be checked when I finally make an appointment with my doctor. You know, it's nice to have medical again, but for someone who is probably an undiagnosed hypochondriac, it just opens up a world of trouble since I now have access to medical care and tests and will relentlessly feed into my sick minded obsession with my health.

Good???

Well so far I haven't cried. Normally I would have cried at least once by now. I am feeling very, very anxious, though. Didn't help that earlier I felt light-headed and off, so I took my blood pressure and it was 105/62. My fingers are swollen and hot again. And itchy. I keep feeling hot and all I can think of is PREMATURE MENOPAUSE. I had a drink earlier (fuzzy navel SO HARDCORE) hoping that would have taken some of the edge off, but no.

Anyway, happy New Year, folks. Hope it's a good one. Just gonna go listen to "Cool Song No. 2" and try not to think of the horrific video, although now that I know the actor guy is a and I quote huge fan of them makes it a little more likeable. I love the part when the music comes blasting at 2:33. It would have been AWESOME at the Electric Factory had the acoustics been a little better.

Also, has anyone seen the Blizzard of the Month? O.M.F.G. I will so be trying that.
